I have been going 2 swanage since i was about 12. My mom and dad always took us here 4 our 2wks summer holiday. We use to camp in a big canvas tent and we always stayed on pipards site. ( its not there now house stand were we use 2 camp) it was a lovely site. Beautiful views over swanage bay. We came every year and loved it. As years went by mom dad had a touring caravan and me and my husband had a tent. My first and second son came camping with us from 6months old. Never had any trouble. My kids are both grown up in there 30s and still they take there familys to swanage camping and we still come and bring our caravan. We LOVE SWANAGE. Its only a small town. But theres enough to get what you need. Theres an arcade on the beach front. By the side of the arcade there steps or a ramp for disabled folk that cant cope with steps. At the top of stairs theres a little fair for small children. A bouncy castle slide for the bit older children. Theres places 2 eat. Also theres a little park for the kids. There is plenty of grass areas 2 have picnics. And the view of swanage bay is beautiful from up there. The beach is right by the town. In main wks it can get very busy on this beach. But this beach does stretch quite a bit. There are toilets along the beach front. There are places 2 eat theres also on the beachfront an information center. You can find out about othe places to visit and other attractions that are open to the public. Theres a beautiful place 2 eat right by were u can get a boat trip or go on a fishing out to sea. The restaurant is open air it has an upstairs to it as well open air. The meals are beautiful. You can sit eating your meal watching boats looking out to sea. You can see folk trying to catch crabs and folk walking towards the pier or towards the lifeguard. Station. Swanage is a lovely small place. If u hate being in busy fast pace of life type of seaside place then Swanage is for you. . I am looking 4wd 2 spending our holiday there again this august ( not long to wait) Love this place. So many memories from when i was young and especially because i still had my parents and they both...
Read moreOne of the nicest places we have ever visited. Good time to go is when the carnival is on at the end of August. Reputed to be the second biggest Carnival after Notting Hills offering, it is truly excellent and best of all its free!! Many of the dancers arrive from the aforementioned carnival to show off there fantastic dresses and dancing, very spectacular it is too! However, the carnival itself often has the Red Arrows, Live music all week long, fairground and many other attractions. This really is a carnival to visit and best of all its in a beautiful part of the world! Amenities are excellent, the access for the disabled or infirm are generally good, plenty of places to eat/dine out etc and the weather is usually very good as its pretty well as far south as you can go in...
Read moreSwanage Beach Front is a place I have been coming to from the 1980's. This is a wonderful area to come to with children, grandchildren and older family. The Beach is perfect, always clean and beautifully kept, and safe paddling and bathing but you must supervise your own children. Deck chairs are available between certain hours. Punch and Judy play during high season. There is seating on front areas and around where the Pier is situated....and the sun always seems...
