The Cabin in Swanage is situated right on the Esplanade as you walk away from town..it has several tiers of bench seating with a couple of larger tables right on the Esplanade being accessible to all although the kiosks to order and pay are up some fairly steep stairs. ( I am sure one of the servers would be happy to help if needed though there are usually several around & they are a friendly bunch)
The second and third tiers up has some quaint little cabin seating tables with direct views out to sea providing some cover from rain. There is no indoor seating. Plus various other sized bench seating.
The views are fantastic overlooking the bay and far out to sea.
I have stopped by with my dog several times, dogs are welcome and that part of the beach is a lot more dog friendly this year due to Dorset council rolling into one and places being reassessed which is welcome news! Water bowl is provided and extra sausages can be bought 🐕👍
The menu is fairly generic, the food also, service is good mainly, some staff are lovely and one or two not so much! Table numbers are needed when ordering and food is then brought to the table, the wait can be long and the prices a little ££ but some views are worth this and Swanage is a little lacking I feel in this particular niche so I do recommend especially for a scenic breakfast.

Read moreOne of the very best locations in Swanage, perched part-way up the cliffs right on the shore The Cabin has great views out to sea and around the bay. The upstairs seating and "Booths" (there's more up behind the servery!) are great for shade on a hot day (or protection on a wet/windy one...). Coffee is great and generously sized, and the place is well-staffed and always clean. Have found a few times it's not open when expected (generally shoulder season or dodgy weather) - but they fly a flag when they're open, visible from right around the bay, so you should never have a wasted walk to get there. As the name suggests, this is a no-frills cafe but it's good value, good fare, great views and some nice little extras (like binoculars available at most booths). They have a loyalty scheme but you'll be wanting to...
Read moreBeautifully located place, however very unfriendly staff with an attitude. Many indiviuals of our group were stunned about the repeated and individual rude encounters with the staff at the counter. Firstly, very slow service at the counter. When we asked about menu details we were challenged why we hadn’t read the menu. Simple sandwiches were overpriced at £7 upwards. Also, there was a confusing set of rules about who can and cannot use the beach adjacent to the Cabin leaving us feeling confused and unwelcome. We had a fabulous day at Swanage beach but the Cabin’s staff sadly dampened...
