Went on Sunday, 1 July 2018 for a walk and popped into the centre to get some advise on the best walks etc. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. We picked up a map for the High Beach to Chingford walk. The map wasn't that useful as there are no relevant marking eg Car parks are not labelled. Also it does not correspond to the maps that are on display at the car parks eg Jack's Hill. So you can not track where you are or where you are going. Normally the staff give you pointers and mark key points on the map to help. ...

Absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately the visitor centre was closed, it's only open friday-sunday and bank holiday Monday. The toilets were not very nice and needed a good clean, wooden toilet seats and generally disgusting. The forest is lovely, beautiful walks, ancient trees and lots of wildlife including Deer's. We saw a coffee van which sold hot/ cold drinks and snacks. Work is always being done within the forest to keep it safe and clean. Lovely to walk the dogs and to...

Spacious and calming centre staffed by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers. There are light creative activities for children, wall exhibitions about the Forest or its history, as well as a shop section selling souvenirs —— something for everyone!

It's also a nice pit stop while hiking. 👣 The toilet is clean, accessible for all, and has baby-changing facilities. The staff also happily refilled my water bottle from their...

If you are a Londoner or a visitor you have to absolutely go to see this forest, nothing in common with the other huge parks, full of relaxing and totally immersion in the really nature. Animals normally walk around like deers and you will love see them . Or you can have simply a picnic on the grass while you watch people riding horses or just ducks and birds around you space walking.

A lovely centre with lots of information about local walks and wildlife. The volunteer staff are fantastic and as passionate about the forest as you’d expect. Don’t miss the window with seats in the corner where you can watch a huge array of bird life (and some rats!) visit the feeders at close range.
