Over Zelous Security SHOP at AMAZON Went 20/10 16.00 Good value products the manager was pleasant and helpful I was there with my partner doing a large shop we had 2 security guards outside the shop watching us (I normally only shop online but when I can like to help independent shops) the security staff were watching us outside bearing in mind we were the only 2 in the shop and there were already 4 members of staff standing around it felt somewhat oppressive. when we left the shop the 2 security moved away I asked the female security if they were intentionally watching us which she denied. We went to Starbucks and one of the male security stared in looking at me it. We had already been to Quest spent over Ā£50 and to Moka for coffee and Pastry which was pleasant. I went back to Grape tree for a refund as the over zealous security made us uncomfortable and had left a bad feeling about being in the Ashley Centre. Ive have now ordered all what I was going to buy from the grape tree online from Holland and Barrat and Amazon. Itās a shame so many of the high street stores are closing and people are losing their jobs but the only thing the high street has to ofer over online shopping is obviously not price but a positive customer experience in a pleasant environment.I might return to to the grape tree one day in the meantime itās Amazon for all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited on a Saturday and used the car park. As a disabled driver the location of spaces was great but sadly thatās where the positive review ends. There are 3 small passenger lifts which were all working but are not big enough for the poor people on mobility scooters waiting to use them - numerous times they stopped and those passengers were unable to get in (I was lucky to be able to squeeze in after a few waits as a walking person). There are also two larger lifts opposite but one was out of order - Iām not sure if the other one was allowed to be used, but it was stuck on the third floor and didnāt respond to pressing the button. Going back to the car park the queues again for the lifts were really large and so I attempted to walk up the stairs (needed my inhaler) only to then find the pay machine was not working! This one was the only one on the floor (so would require more walking to another level to find another machine) and also one of the few that took cards. The gentleman was trying to repair it and after a while succeeded, but I do feel the lift access and availability of pay machines needs to be looked at to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just have to review the Ashley centre today! I've lived in epsom 25 years and this is the first opportunity I got to enjoy shopping with a toddler at Christmas time. Oh my goodness, the entertainment was absolutely fab! We enjoyed the dancing singing toy soldiers, a juggler with awesome LED juggles and a balloon elf all in the space of just 45 minutes. My daughter loved it and so did we, what an excellent thing to do for the the kids! Thank you! There is a virtual reality sleigh ride which looks super fun and Christmas carols and performances every day. You've really gone full out! Apart from this particular experience, the ashley centre is always spotless clean, has wonderful baby changing facilities and helpful...
