I recently visited Muffin Break through the Too Good to Go app, hoping to try something new. As I’ve never been drawn to their sweets, I thought the discounted price made it worth a try. Unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant.
When I arrived, the server made an unsolicited comment, asking if I had been running, which I found particularly offensive. It’s one thing to comment on someone’s appearance, but I struggle with mobility due to chronic health issues. I understand he didn’t know that, but it felt like a joke about my appearance and my condition—implying I had rushed to get their cakes, when in reality, even short walks are challenging for me. It left me feeling disrespected.
On top of that, the attitude while serving felt dismissive, like I was just there for a cheap deal. The bag contained four cakes, which felt thrown together with little care. I had hoped for more variety since sandwiches were also advertised. I ended up with cakes that I didn’t particularly enjoy—they were overly sweet for my taste, and frankly, I wouldn’t go back for them, even at a discount. My daughter tried some, but we both agreed it wasn’t worth it.
I wouldn’t recommend it based...
Read moreSo we came to this shop thinking it looked nice and ordered a chorizo chicken mozerella sandwich , chicken almond and coffee cake. I normally dont leave negative reviews but this experience I want to ward off future customers from this disgusting standards. Also i will visit the store for discussion with the manager.
It was very disappointing , for £5 a sandwich , the chorizo chicken had no chicken and literally just contained a layer of cheese to make it a toastie. The chicken almond sandwich contained loads of onion and the bread had a funny taste to it.
The worse by far was the coffee cake, it was definitely expired as it has a nasty bitter aftertaste and my wife and I both had stomach aches at night.
Our total came at £13.30, do yourself a favour, go to m&s and Waitrose, Get yourself a proper sandwich and the deserts probably are larger portion and higher quality of taste and ingredients.
Looks like a cozy cafe but with rip off products that are beyond their...
Read moreI’m disappointed that Muffin Break have lost their dedication to the theme of muffins.
The choice of muffins was a mediocre seven which accounted for 18% of the food available This does not include crisps and those other little snacks things they put by the till.
It wasn’t always like this and I fear Muffin Break have lost their way. I understand the pressures of business in today’s market and I’m sure the owners of Muffin Break look enviously across at queues at Costa and have summarised that a more varied menu offering would coax in the caffeine craving Sunday morning population of Epsom. This approach doesn’t appear to be working.
Perhaps a rebranding is in order. My suggestion would be “18% Muffin Break and 82% other snacks to have with coffee”
The hot chocolate was nice but lacked their flair of local competition.
I had a...
