Visit Zip World Llechwedd as I took my daughter for her 18th birthday. I had to plan the day due to 3-hour travel time to and from site. As with any place you visit there are pros and cons, this was no different. Pros: Parking was fine with plenty of spaces and staff on hand to direct you. Staff were lovely. No issues with checking in or being directed to where I needed to be for multiple activities. First activity was the Titan (2x zip lines) Kitting up was easy with staff there to help (and take a photo of me and my daughter in our kit, thank you very much!) Safety briefing was spot on and detailed. Our driver of the truck was funny and great information given to us along the way to the top. Zip lines themselves were cool… definitely would do them again, if not a longer/faster one. We decided to have a break after the first activity. Staff in the café were friendly and lovely to be served by them. Second activity we done was the caverns. This was an adventure to say the least. Spending around 2 to 3 hours in caves? Yes please… Safety briefing was perfect along with us going through a short training section with instructor so he was happy we would be safe on our own. That activity was brilliant and going again! We then had another short break before our last activity. Again, at the same café. Third activity was the underground golf. The only pro I can get out of this was it looked really cool underground, and it wasn’t the normal mini golfing experience you would normally go to. Cons: Toilets just before the entrance and just inside the reception area are not the best. For the guys not so bad but I’m glad I’m a guy. They could do with a lick of paint or little refurb. These get used a lot because there is no toilets underground. I had 2 cameras added to my Titan package to film the experience for me and my daughter. Unfortunately, my camera only recorded the first zip line. My daughter’s recorded both zip lines. Granted… when I spoke to staff, they put a refund request through (which is still ongoing) Further to the above cameras, the quality of the video and photos is not good. I was hoping to combine all videos and photos, including some of my own, into a video for family and friends. It’s not good enough for something like YouTube. (I haven’t had chance to speak with Zip World about this yet) Underground Golf is pretty pricy for what it is. I paid £50 for 2 of us and it is a mini golfing with 18 holes. After being on site for around 7 hours we both got bored quick. Overall, would I go back to this site? Yes 100%. Would I do the same activities? Some of them yes. Would I go to another Zip World site? Yes. Would I recommend it to someone else? Yes.

We did the crazy golf in the caves in zip world and it wasn't bad. The crazy golf wasn't the most crazy course we've been to but it was pretty novel being down in the caves. Getting the helmets on and heading underground in the little train added to the novelty of the experience - good stuff. It wasn't badly priced as we qualified for a locals discount (even though we're about an hour away - we must have the same post code) and the gift shop and refreshments didn't seem over priced which was nice. The staff were nice throughout, from a very pleasant and helpful guy on the phone as we booked whilst on the way to the man who welcomed us and got us set up with helmets, intro talk, etc - all did their job very well. The facilities were a little dated and worn and a few bits on the courses didn't work as you'd expect but it didn't ruin the experience. There were 18 holes with the golf, although not too much variation between them. Not bad for the price, but we were ready to finish by the time it was done. Took us a little over an hour to get around - we weren't waiting for many holes and didn't hold anybody up. The kids used the toilets before we went down - well worth doing as there aren't any toilets down there (and no staff visible throughout the game to ask). Only caused a slight issue on the 17th hole as my youngest was getting slightly desperate for the loo and we had to wait for the train to come back down to collect us. We ended up waiting and me trying to distract her for just ten to fifteen minutes before we were able to head to the facilities. We grabbed some lunch in the bike centre just around the corner before arriving as we got there 30 minutes early and the food was excellent. Cost about £35 for me and my two girls so not the cheapest but worth it - the food was lovely and there was plenty of it. Overall worth a visit for the price, but not somewhere I'd probably go back to for a second go.

We arrived on 02/08/22 for 10:10am as the request of the booking confirmation. It was raining sideways upon on arrival. There were already queues out the door at this point. The caverns where the Bounce Activity is hosted we’re flooded up the knee, hence the hold up. This queue wasn’t managed affectively by staff and instead congested everyone else’s routes. Some people even missed their booking slots due to this large queue. Outside. In the pouring rain. Eventually, after speaking with several young members of staff who were flapping faster than some of the birds flying above we had movement. A female young staff member finally agreed to user all who were going to the Llechwedd Caverns & Crazy Golf through the main queue and down the side whereby we would finally be checked in & where we could begin the tour. This was very disappointing as there were older people and children all outside getting soaked before they’d even gone underground. It was lucky we wore our walking attire & full water proofs. However, when we finally reached the surface of the mine we greeted by a Slate Cutter and Tour Guide Alicia who was brilliant. She was fresh, interested & great with Children. The information she provided was excellent and made the tour. For this I am giving the experience a 4 star. It would have most certainly been a 5 if we hadn’t had the delay and also felt the stress of the staff which was taken out of their guests. I think this should be a learning experience for them when dealing with an unforeseen situation. It did make me wonder, if this was how they chose to deal with such minor issue how they would deal with a serious / major issue at the Centre. But, looking passed this… we really enjoyed the tour. Thank you Alicia for a great experience under ground.

The actual activity was amazing and I don't know anywhere else in the UK that does zip wires quite like this company! I have to say, when we turned up there were limited signs of where to go. We were pointed in the direction of an over flow carpark and not told anything else. The staff we did ask just pointed and then directed us wrong. Safe to say we had NO IDEA what to do or where to go and I was worried we would be late, but I didn't need to worry. It would have been better if there were more signs and staff being helpful and directing you were to go. For your information: Go to the main carpark as this is where you check in. If you are doing the zip wire, there is a wooden shelter where you get suited up. If you are doing bounce below or the carverns you go into a building which is just past the cafe. We did the caverns experience and our session was at 10, but it actually started at 10.30, you get kitted out and then go to a training area, where you test the wires and this is about 1hr. Depending on how many are in your group and their age. We had 14 and this felt like way too many and was a little slow. Drink plenty or water and go to the loo before you go in, as you can't take anything in with you (apart from phones at your own risk). Lockers are £1 coin. The actual cavern experience was very fun and once you get going on the big course it's very fun, there are lots of zip wires. IT IS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED OR PEOPLE WITH A FEAR OF HEIGHTS! There's a lot variation to the course with Bridges, zip wires and tunnels. I'd definitely recommend this experience for families and couples, great morning out. We got there about 9.30 and left at 2.30pm.

What a place. We did the Quarry tour and Deep mine tour combined. Bouncing around in the back of the army lorry as we wound our way up through the quarry to almost the very top was great fun. Our guide Steve explained the history of both the quarry and the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, stopping off at various heights for us to take pictures and look at the old buildings, wheelhouse and exposed caverns, along with pointing out the different landmarks that could be seen. Unfortunately the weather was against us with low cloud cover and rain towards Snowdon, but we did see Harlech Castle down on the coast. He even stopped and showed us wild blueberries to pick and try. A fascinating trip on its own which helped set the scene before, following Hot chocolate at the half way point, we descended into the Mine itself. A spectacular walk over the two highest levels of the mine, after descending in the train, open to the public with projected talks by the founding owner and Miners of the day through narrow tunnels, cavernous caverns, 61 step descent to the next level, a have ago experience with the old times drill and a brilliant end to the Mine tour (Wont spoil the surprise). At the end Steve showed us how to manually split slates to form Roofing slates. All round a great afternoon and well worth the money. A must for anyone.
