I had a nice moment taking a break from my bike ride at Wintour’s Leap. There were some ladies sitting at the top of the rocks and one of them seemed to express genuine fright when I nearly toppled my bottle over when I was filling it up from the bottle of lemonade that I had bought from Aldi. I had rather hoped that the ladies might join me for a spot of lunch but I saw that they had harnesses on and they looked like they were doing some rock climbing. Well it’s always nice to meet some other outdoor sports enthusiasts and I’m sorry if my drinks bottle nearly falling over frightened you away.

A lovely winter climbing crag when it’s not seeping with wet. Some great trad here at most grades and has some sport. So something for everyone. The walk in is about 20 min to most walls. The approach can be very muddy and slippery and is up a fairly steep path at sections. No top out at most of the routes as people live up at the top. Access through the scrubs are good. Some lines are very run out and offer good holds but little protection for opportunities for gear.

Loads of bolted climbs ranging from 4 to 6 difficulty. Single and multi-pitch options. Wonderful views down from Woodcroft Quarry onto the Wye river. Parking can be found on Lancaut Lane - walk back to the main road and turn right then turn right on to Offa’s Dyke Path. You walk down here until you reach some houses with gardens on the other side of the path. Eventually you reach a gate on the right with a code required
