I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Rising Sun, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome that instantly made us feel at home. The ambiance perfectly mirrors the community spirit, making it a true gem in the neighborhood.

The food was outstanding, showcasing the finest local ingredients. It's clear that The Rising Sun takes great pride in sourcing their food and drink locally, which not only supports the community but also ensures the freshest and most flavourful experience for their guests.

The staff at The Rising Sun are both efficient and friendly, striking the perfect balance between attentive service and genuine hospitality.

What impressed us the most was the evident commitment to the community. This isn't just a pub; it's a gathering place where locals come together to enjoy great food, drinks, and company. This community-centric approach adds a unique and inviting charm that sets it apart from other establishments.

Overall, The Rising Sun is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy top-notch food, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It's a shining example of what a community pub should be, and I can't recommend it...

After completing a 177-mile fundraising walk over 8 days along Offa’s Dyke for Headway North Staffordshire Brain Injury Charity, our group stopped at The Rising Sun in Woodcroft, Chepstow, for a well-deserved dinner. The experience was nothing short of exceptional.

From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the pub made us feel right at home. After such a long walk, the friendly staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group, making sure we were comfortable and settled.

The pub’s atmosphere was warm, cozy, and full of character. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, unwind, and enjoy a great meal. There’s a real sense of community here, and it was a fitting end to our challenging but rewarding journey for such a meaningful cause....

What a find! Fell upon this place whilst out walking at the last minute decided on a Sunday lunch. The service was so friendly and attentive, fast and caring. It’s rare to get this and we felt very well looked after, the staff had a friendly open attitude which was encouraging when we asked for mint in our gin and tonic and feeling overwhelmed with so many top favourite choices on the dessert menu. The food was delicious, a top beef roast and loads of veg with the perfect amount of gravy and the lemon tart on of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend and we’ll be back for sure I can see this will be on of our regulars places to eat. Thank you so much. My husband had the lamb and brownie sundae, there wasn’t a scrap of...

First time here since the pub reopened. Great food with gluten- free options. Lunch with friends. We all enjoyed our mains and yummy puddings! Two had the mushroom risotto (creamy and tasty!) and one had the pie of the day with mash, veg and gravy. They said it was the best pie they've ever had! Beef Nightjar pie. We had gluten free sticky toffee pud with either ice cream or custard. The pudding was really light and the sauce was divine! One had chocolate brownie with ice cream, which they enjoyed. Will be back soon!

Food was fantastic, service was impeccable, staff were lovely and the atmosphere is cozy and warm. Ate out with Family of 18 and food (although pre-booked) was timely and hot. Outside garden is cozy, near to Offa's Dyke and the lovely views accompanying it (3 minute or so walk down the road), indoor areas are clean and atmospheric. Large range of food and drink, both for adults and children, quality at a good price, both for pre booking and in pub purchase. Fantastic place to dine with a small or large group.

Fantastic Sunday Roast. Stopped by on way back home from Forest of Dean and so glad we did. We had the pork belly, fish and chips and nut roast and all were fabulous. The nut roast homemade and “the best nut roast” my wife has ever had. Service was incredibly friendly and they checked with us multiple times to make sure we were taken care of. Great selection of drinks - including local Wye valley beers. Highly recommend. We’ll be back for food whenever we’re back in the area!
