Great spot to cool off on a hot summer day. Large parking lot with no fee. Warm, shallow water, with deeper water available towards opposite bank. The beach itself is sandy and long, with lots of room to get away from tourist crowds. There were porta-potties and trash barrels available when we visited, and most people were respectful regarding carry-in, carry-out.
One star deducted for selfish jerks who bring dogs onto the beach, even though it is clearly posted no dogs allowed on beach between 10 am and 5 pm, and all dogs must be leashed. During a recent visit we counted no less than 5 dogs (around 2 pm), only 2 of which were leashed. We had to dodge several piles of dog poop that owners hadn’t picked up, as well as listen to barking. Wish the cops would stop by periodically and write tickets to these entitled people.
Apart from these detractors, Weston’s beach is generally clean, well maintained, and overall a good place for families to spend...
Read moreLots of vegetables! The beach is also very nice! Rocky in some parts, but great to canoe on. Gets super deep if your able to swim across. The water sometimes will get rapid, and sometimes recedes during seasons. Has a nice hiking trail, but only one entrance that people crowd by, so you gotta end up walking an extra 20 mins to find an empty spot to settle. Soft sand too! Lots of cute tadpoles, not much seaweed or other plants in the water. Not many bugs either. Great place for vegetables and the beach. Just an FYi they hire migrant workers for the farm. I dont usually support that since they might be underpaid but I have no knowledge to say so. Still a nice...
Read moreGreat for tubing, swimming, laying out. Rockiness is a bit off putting and I cut my feet but water shoes would shove that. Buy your own tubes paddle to the bridge and float back. It takes maybe 30-45 minutes to get to the end...
