I brought my sons here for lunch on a Tuesday around noon. When we arrived, there was a line, which was totally expected at lunchtime. The four of us were just looking at the menu and specials and discussing what we were going to order. The assistant manager Katy was making food, and a nice young gentleman was working in the back area filling things etc. She heard us talking about food, my ten year old (who is autistic, which comes into play later) is excited to order a meatball sub. She glances in our direction and says, pretty snidely, I’ll be with you soon. I said back- Ok, no problem. The people ahead of us complete their orders, the other guy working comes out to ring them up, and she looks at my 16 year old son… he tells her what type of sub he wants. She very rudely says- so what type of bread? What size? I need to know what you want. So he says sorry, and he tells her the size and bread. Her nasty attitude continues, and he is over polite and apologizing. At this point, I tell him to stop apologizing. Now I’m getting a little annoyed. There is one party behind us of 2 guys, and we were ready to order, so this shouldn’t have been a big deal. So as my 16 yo son is ordering, a gentleman comes in to pick up an order he placed ahead of time. She very nice to him and politely greets him, gives him his food, and tells him to have a nice day. Now we’re starting to feel like she has an issue with us. My oldest son is up next, and she is just as rude to him. So she has now decided it is my youngest son’s turn to order. She overheard him say he wanted a meatball sub earlier, and during her hissy fit making my other sons’ subs, at some point she realizes the meatballs are low. Now she’s coming down on the guy who’s working with her (I’m sorry I didn’t get his name). Apparently he forgot to refill the meatballs. Which to me, would not have been a problem we couldn’t solve AT ALL. We could’ve waited a few minutes, he could’ve changed his order. ANYTHING. Instead, she looks at my ten year old, and he doesn’t realize that’s his cue to order. Again, he is autistic. And he is already uncomfortable with her behavior. So she looks up at him, he doesn’t say anything to her right away, and I tell him to order. Within a matter of him, not replying to her in those five seconds, she started talking smack to my 10-year-old about how she doesn’t have time for him and she has things to do and she can’t just stand there and wait for him to order. Then he starts crying, he won’t order anything, and she is going back-and-forth with me refusing to apologize to him or me or do anything to make him feel comfortable or to want to order food. I literally asked her, while politely still addressing her as ma’am the entire time, what her problem was and why was she treating my son like that. We ended up leaving with only two sandwiches, and I would have bought nothing except the boys were excited for their first Subway experience in Maine… what a fail. And the other employee gave me the owner’s business card because of how inappropriate the entire situation was. I called the owner Angelique, two times, the first time from the store while on site and then the next morning. She did finally call me back, she stated that there is audio in the store, she acknowledged that what I was saying was recorded, she had spoken to the other employee who told her about the meatballs and the situation, and then… SHE TRIED TO GASLIGHT ME into believing that we misinterpreted Katy‘s tone and that it sounded like it was loud in there so maybe she was shouting over the noise. The noise of what?? There were 2 other people in the store at that time… Then my call dropped, and the owner never called me back or apologized or offered any type of reparation for the behavior of her assistant manager. If I could rate this Subway zero stars for their disturbing behavior, I would. The one star is for the guy who gave me the business card because I felt bad for him...
Read moreI really want to give this place 5 starts because I have had a lot of good visits here with our family. Recently this man, Wayne that was hired treated me like trash while we were there, I reached out to the owner as suggested by the assistant manager because she has gotten multiple complaints about him. I expected a professional response, but never got anything back. I’m usually not one to complain about employees to management or owners. I’ve worked in customer service my whole life. I know how it can be, and I’m really understanding person.. We are locals to Fryeburg and visit Subway frequently with our family. I went in while my husband was fixing a load we had on the trailer. I really had to use the bathroom. I asked Wayne (who is apparently the manager) nicely if I could have the code to use the bathroom. He was extremely rude and snapped at me in front of another customer saying I can’t use the bathroom unless I buy something. I told him we were going to be ordering some subs and that we would be paying customers, I was just waiting for my husband. He said you’re not using the bathroom until you pay. I was surprised by this and just said okay. I unfortunately took this out on my husband and yelled to him to come inside so we could order and pay so I could use the bathroom. It was our turn to order and he ask only my husband if he was ready to order. My husband said not yet, so I said I was ready and had a couple sandwiches to order. He turned his back to me and ignored me until my husband was ready to order. Half way through our order Wayne asked who was paying and my husband said he was, so he finally gave me the code to the bathroom.. I completely understand only allowing customers to use the bathrooms, but the way he went about this was extremely uncalled for! The way he treated me was awful. I’ve had 3 babies, when I need to use the bathroom I need to use the bathroom. We’ve also never had a bad experience at the Subway in Fryeburg so it was upsetting to say the least.. We will not be back if he is working. I would not be leaving this if my private complaint was acknowledged, and I felt like I was heard. Very disappointed by...
Read moreMy daughter's Visa gift card was used by an employee to make on line gambling purchases in the amount of $44.75 AFTER my daughter bought herself a cookie & a chocolate milk ($5.25) on a Monday, during her school lunch. On Tuesday, my daughter went to a different establishment to make her lunch purchase when informed by the cashier there was a zero remaining balance. 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 Blackhawk Company confirmed it was spent by a Subway Employee from THEIR subshop location JUST AFTER my daughters Subway purchase. Nothing was ever done to provide restitution for this hideous crime. The young red headed employee was turning beet red in the face knowing SHE did my daughter WRONG. I never heard back from Subways Management team claiming they would look at their new security camera's surveillance and get back to me. I left MULTIPLE messages and even filed a report with local authorities. Customer's beware, the camera is mounted right over the cash register and credit card machine. Your card information & PIN is NOT PROTECTED AT...
