The staff at the Aqua Park really need to get their act together. We went on a reasonably quiet day, which is just as well, because I can't imagine how they cope when its busy. They're website is confusing and I couldn't even get passed the login before encountering problems. I had to send an email to customer services just to access the booking form and once I'd filled in my details it just took me round and round and round. If you don't book on line, you'll be charged an extra £5 to complete the same details when you're there. Once you arrive, there is no one to give you instructions or directions. They provide lockers in the 3 changing rooms, but they don't tell you there are another 2 changing rooms behind the gate...and lockers! You can bring your own padlock for the lockers, but beware they don't all work! Check your locker is actually locked before you leave your valuables. We reported this to staff who were unaware this was a problem. Whether they actually do anything about it remains to be seen. The changing room floors are filthy, the perfect breeding place for bacteria, i.e. verrucas and there are no doors on the shower cubicles, so no privacy there! The actual aqua park is fun and safe and there are plenty of lifeguards around. However, the (advertised) photographer decided to have a day off and as cameras weren't allowed anywhere near the water, we have no recorded memories of our day there. Finally, as we and others left the park, we got stuck at the exit barriers. Parking tickets have to be paid for at the parks pay stations...if you can find one! They do not stand out and there are no signs giving you a clue where they are. We did eventually spot two after driving around. They could also do with a covered area for people to stand under whilst waiting for the safety video to start. On a rainy day, I can imagine it to be a little uncomfortable having to stand out in the rain, getting soaked before...
Read moreDisappointed and feeling ripped off! I booked myself and 4 teens for the water Park on Wednesday 2/6/21 paying the £20 each as it was the last few times I have been over the last few years with the life jacket and the wet suit included in the price!
Since covid that changed due to contamination and wetsuits became optional.
Today we attended and the weather was great, and we didn’t want the wetsuits, but were told they are mandatory (doesn’t state that on the website) says highly recommend and “May”be asked to wear one on certain days? I was forced to pay a further £7.50 per person for wetsuits due to Extra cleaning due to COVID!
The standard dipping of suits in barrels plus a spray of antibacterial solution...so I was told by a manager?
I observed one of the young lads filling a spray bottle from the hose near the barrels and then go spray the suits 🤷🏻♂️
I understand that covid has effected everything and still will for a while yet,
my gripe is...how can they say this extra spray warrants £7.50 extra charge PER SUIT?! They can’t justify it because it’s a rip off on the back of COVID...profiteering from the misery that everyone has suffered over the last year.
It won’t make a difference to you but I won’t be back, I will be using fairly priced...
Read moreWe had a great time as we went to the 6pm session and there were only around 20 people on our timeslot, so lots of space on all the inflatables. At 5.30 I went to buy a padlock to be told that the aqua park staff weren't manning their desk anymore - could they maybe wait until the last session actually starts until leaving? The changing rooms were horrendous, absolutely filthy and given that there were only around 5 or 6 people out on the other activities feel this was the responsibility of Aqua Park staff rather than the Rutland Watersports team. We did not change into our wetsuits in there but used the toilet block on the other side of the building. We were glad to have our own as you have to strip the hire ones off in the open air straight after! After the session the 10 people in the changing room completely filled it and the floor was still filthy, it should surely be at least squeegeed out between groups or leave one in there for customers to use. How this is manageable for a full group is beyond me, Aqua Park clearly need their own large changing area separate to Rutland Watersports. The fantastic experience on the water is let down by the organisation...
