Came here to try the mini golf. £8 for two adults, and a very decent 12 hole course. Course is based off local information and sites so a nice informative read as you play each hole. Clubs, ball, score sheet and pencil provided. The last hole collects the ball too, but the club has to be returned at the info office.
Walked around the lake from Sykes lane to Whitwell, stopped and had a drink at the water park cafe and then walked back. The aqua park looks really fun! Boat rides also available, from what we could see available every hour from 1-3pm.
Walk was lovely and peaceful, shared pathway for walkers and bikes so need to be observant. Gates occasionally that need to be opened when walking/cycling. Also got close to some sheep which was really nice.
Think we were there for around/just over 3 hours and paid £4.40 on the way out for the car park. Need to get out using your ticket, the machine takes your ticket but the barrier went up for us anyway on the way out so think it syncs up once paid anyway as it goes off the car reg.
Lovely visit, wish we had the time/energy to walk the whole lake but maybe next...
Read moreNot too sure how much I can write about the car park lol. It is spacious, with enough car space to accommodate many people. There is a lot of shade, which makes it even better, especially on a warm sunny day. There are toilets nearby, not too clean though, and a bit outdated, but better than nothing. I am not sure about the car park's exact prices, but I paid £12 for a bit over 6 hours, which compared to the year post covid is quite high, at least facilities could improve if it's this expensive. Carpark is located right next to the picnic area nearby the water, which makes it comfortable especially if you planning to stay all day and carry many things. Visiting the place is highly recommended for everyone of every age. You can rent a bike and cycle around the lake. It is a bit long, 23 miles, therefore walking is not recommended especially on a warm and sunny day. There are many other water activities nearby the Carpark to spend a decent and relaxing day by the lake. I personally love this place and I visit often. You...
Read moreWe went for the boat trip primarily. Very well organised, informative without overloading you with information. Really pleasurable trip around the lake, lovely views. The crew was very friendly, and organised. There is an opportunity to get off half way round, and explore, and return on a later trip. Afterwards we went into the tearoom. Very good choice, four of us each had something, and all enjoyed it. Well worth a visit. There is also a walk around the lake, quite a way though. Also a water park now i believe. Would...
