Hereford Community Skatepark — Attraction in Great Britain

I actually like this park, has some of the friendliest users. But it has serious flaws

Slippy painted ramps, not good in the cold or wet. The paint takes ages to dry, so you are left with patches of dry concrete then suddenly slippy and dangerous paint.

Right next to busy main road, with poor air quality. Could do with a 2m high conifer hedge to block some diesel pollution and provide sound dampening.

Skate shop is a welcome addition, but blocks the light in the winter, so if it does rain the lower street section and small bowl take forever to dry. Coping is sunk so far into the deck that you can't grind on it.

Lack of shade in the summer, could do with some strategically placed canopy and roof to provide summer shade and winter...

This is an excellent skatepark, one of the best and most professionally designed in the country. It is built and run by volunteers and is free to use. You don't need to be a member. There's a friendly atmosphere here too. Skaters of all ages come here to skate as well as bmxers and scooter kids.

There is an excellent skateshop on site where you can buy everything from a bottle of water to everything you need to build a complete new skateboard. You can even get skate lessons here. Jay is the best asset this park has, he runs the shop and pretty much does everything else around here as well. He is a skater from the 70's who knows his way around everything skate related. Re reviewing because my god I love this park. If you ride bmx or skate around the area of Hereford definitely go here ASAP. It’s a great mix of vert, street and transition for all skill levels. Park is sometime getting a new section and being resurfaced soon to make it the largest skatepark again some time. Don’t know when but I’m hyped nevertheless. Top tip my favourite thing to ride here is the euro gap or the street flow line around the park. Check it out!
