The Four Waterfalls Walk was a great experience, not too challenging and we got wonderful weather (can’t imagine it’d be too much fun in the rain!).

I’d subtract one star with the confusion around the car parks. If you are taking a car, I’d recommend going earlier than 10am; there’s a couple of car parks spaced about and do remember that they can spin off new car parks taking cash payment on private fields - which is what they did for us! Advise going towards the Cwm Porth car park - this is a great start to the trail and there’s potential other car parks onwards from here in the occasion it is full. It was £5 for the day so make sure you are not duped to paying more!

Toilets - there’s portaloos in one of the Car Parks which you need to use before you embark on the walk as you’ll find no toilets during the approx 3 to 4 hour walk!

Crowd - the various waterfalls all get fairly crowded with people even attempting to swim and go in the falls. The actual walking trails were not too bad and we were not held up or delayed in any way on our walk.

Paths - there’s green paths and red paths which are very clearly signposted - it’s difficult to get lost there. Green paths are slightly more challenging but suitable for even kids - this will take you closer to the falls.

Take a swimsuit, take a camera, wear hiking boots for sure and...

Beautiful walk, the snow adds an other worldly aspect to a well trodden path. This is a great route for those who are a little nervous with navigation as it's very well marked and there's generally a good few people about to ask the way of your unsure. It's not a challenging route physically but a degree of fitness is needed if you want to get close up to the falls as some of the decent/assents are very steep even with the rails. We went on a very cold February day and there was a good layer of ice in parts which made full use of the extra grip a good pair of hiking boots provide. I also used hiking poles for extra grip as I was walking with a slight foot injury so caution was needed in places but it's still manageable in the cold weather....wrap up warm though and make sure you have your waterproofs to hand if you want to go behind the falls in cold weather. A most enjoyable day out and accessible for...

This has to be one of the prettiest of the waterfalls there is. The wow factor is just wow. If you take the main path down it’s steep with some deep steps. If you take the os maps footpath it’s a more gentle although you’ll be clambering down over rocks you arrive at the head of the waterfall and it’s stunning. The river then runs down where you can paddle, sit and just be. A little further downstream is another smaller waterfall which is just beautiful. The walk back up will take about 20 mins and it’s steep which you’ll already know if you are following the red route. Which brings me to that. Red routes take you to the head of waterfalls and then Green routes take you to the waterfall itself. Also there are numbers on all posts and this is in case you have an emergency and need to call for assistance. You simply give the nearest posts number and it...

This is a wonderful waterfall to visit. They are currently doing a lot of work on the paths leading to the waterfalls so they do have airlift bags with stones next to this waterfall but you can walk round the side and still get to see it in all its beauty. The paths around this walk are currently incredibly muddy ( hence the repair work) so if walking this in the winter and wetter months just be prepared that there is a lot of mud! It’s a fantastic walk overall (the four falls trail) and going the week at this time of year is when it’s most quiet !! Just be warned that it isn’t an easy walk and some may struggle with the terrain. Theres loose rocks, mud and steep/tall steps to reach the waterfalls.
