Shawn Mendes

Shawn Mendes has connections to Bournemouth through his family, who have roots in the area. His mother, Karen, is from Bournemouth and works as an estate agent, according to The Times. The singer also mentioned his family in Bournemouth and how he was raised with his mother's traditional Sunday roasts and shepherd's pie. Additionally, a local bakery created a special muffin in his name. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Family Ties: Shawn Mendes' mother, Karen, is from Bournemouth. Bakery Tribute: A bakery in Bournemouth created a "Shawn Mendes" muffin in his honor. Shawn Mendes was raised with Bournemouth traditions.

My Mum is from Bournemouth and some of my family are from Bournemouth and Christchurch and the South of England.

I have been travelling to Southbourne, Bournemouth all my life and I love it. My family have a holiday flat close to the sea in Southbourne,...

It's good because it's close to Bournemouth with a gental sloping sandy beach - without the crowds.

BUT... There are pebbles and stones. They are annoyingly found at the water's edge when trying to get in the cold water requires a bit of decorum! It is quite uncomfortable getting in and out of the water. I much prefer Sand Banks or Canford Cliffs.

The Bistro on the Beach I have not tried. Food looks nice but is pricey for the captive audience. The take-away service next door only accepts cash which probably limits their intake and volume of customers. Nor are there any local cash machines! TAKE CASH.

The toilets... For a lovely little place and a nice beach the toilets really let it down - disgusting! Go in the sea, if you can get in without shoes.

Parking is free along the coast road but get there early, as in before 08:45 to get a space. Or, park in the...

Quieter beach than Bournemouth, but with less facilities.

A yellow sand beach with breakwaters. It's good for swimming although the beach shelves quite quickly once you get about 10 metres from shore.

The water is very clean, and it's possible to see the sea bottom.

There's a smooth path along most of the beach with joint use with cyclists. The path is at the same level as the beach.

Toilets are available, but the gents are only accessible via a flight of steps up. The ladies is more accessible with a path leading off the ramp down to the beach.

A good sized pay and display car park is available on the level between beach and street level. Like all other car parks around this area, it has a height restriction.

The ramp leading down from there makes the beach fully accessible, though having a powered wheelchair would help greatly getting back up the...

We parked up here and walked along to Boscombe but you can walk further if you wish to. Nice place to come and walk your dog, cycle or jog or just take in the view. There are some cafes along the seafront some of which are open most of the year and others are seasonal. Beach huts can be rented along the seafront, facilities are easy to find, toilets, changing rooms, showers etc. There is even a surf shop with a surf school. No cycling along the beach front from July and August.

Walked on Southbourne Beach today during the storm and loved it! Long and wide promenade taking you all the way to Bournemouth. Lots of families and dog walkers today enjoying the views of the windsurfers in the tumbling surf. Plenty of toilets along the way plus you can stop at the bistro for a hot beverage or a meal. In the summer the beach huts are all full. I come down regularly as its simply a great place to be!

We visited this beach two weeks ago. Lovely place. Took the dog with us and there was a section we could take him off the lead and let him Experience sand and sea for the first time. Was a lovely day. There was a outside shower to spray water off feet etc. Parking - on street parking. Wasn’t busy. So free. Small car park near by. Didn’t use it. Some shops near by. Fish and chip shop and a small supermarket.
