So for me, Loughshore is about a 5 mile round trip walk from home, and gets done most weeks of the year. The availability of loo and cafe add to the usefulness of the park as a halfway stop. There is good seating and a car park which is adequate most of the time, but gets full in summer weekends. There's a small caravan park attached, with its own entrance and facilities. Children are catered for with usual play park and a bit of an adventure game. Great views across Belfast Lough and easy access to Belfast along the main road. Negatives for me are the number of dog walkers who fail to control their dogs providing a trip hazard for elderly and disabled folk. Read moreThe park sits right on the lough, offering great views across to Holywood. You can get teas, coffees, snacks and ice-cream at the café and there are toilet facilities. There is a large open green area on either side of the car park which is great for family outings and picnics. There is also outdoor gym equipment if you're feeling energetic! The area on the right of the car park has a well equipped playground for kids of all ages. Lovely place to relax and watch the world go by. Got into another similar site - had to pay for two nights as the system would not accept one night booking (this at 6pm on the day!). The barrier code provided in the email didn't work - something others at the site confirmed, so the working code was simply passed out from those already in.
