Little Wing Whiteabbey — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Really enjoyed our visit to Little Wing in Whiteabbey. Public carpark right next to the restaurant. You cannot reserve a table, walk ins only. Only downside we had to wait 20minutes to be called for a table. It was a dry evening so went for a walk along the shore. Obviously that's not for everyone.

Seated and order taken quickly. Drinks options good. Non alcoholic/alcoholic choices. Jug of water for the table. Pizza options endless... You can order a 24inch pizza (gigantic!!) Excellent for a party. We opted for a calzone, pizza and two sides. The pizzas were cooked to perfection and tasted beautiful! Everything was gobbled up not a crumb left. I also felt the restaurant was very reasonable priced. Like our bill for 2 pizzas, two sides, two drinks (incl a glass of wine) was £32. I’ve always found the food here to be lovely, and the waiting staff generally very friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, our experience tonight was disappointing. The blonde waitress serving us made us feel as though we were on a conveyor belt. I had just ordered a cocktail before finishing my meal, yet we were given repeated looks, and the bill was printed and placed down on our table abruptly without us asking. There wasn’t even anyone waiting for a table. The couple beside us experienced the same treatment and commented on it as well. I stayed to enjoy my drink but continued to receive frustrated looks throughout. It really let the other colleagues down who work so hard and clearly build a great rapport with their customers. Tried to take my family out here a few times but the inability to book put me off somewhat so I figured on a Tuesday evening, it may not be too bad and headed on out. 45 minutes wait! With nowhere really to wait and the kids hearts now set on eating there we had to kill the time walking along the loughshore on a not so sunny July evening. When we got seated the place was comfortable and the service for the most part was great. Very civil, pleasant and attentive but the wait between the starters and main courses was way too long.
