Perhaps not usually regarded as an arboretum, many fine trees are to be found in the Park:-The Mediterranean Oak that dominates the Children's Playground; the Californian Coast Redwood by the Grange, so tall you might miss it ; the Scarlet Oak in its Autumn finery. The Park boasts much other autumnal colour and variety. Acccording to the Tree Registry the tucked away Chestnut-leaved Oak is the only one in the Liverpool area! Early October is a great time to visit the back of the Park for the spectacular yellows of the Ash groves. Take the path to Paschal Baylon initially but then keep along the back gardens of Thornton Road.

Some interesting plants! The lovely Marjoram colony is near the Buttermere Bridge, then we have the statuesque Purple Loosestrife which has gone 'large' over the Park. Generally welcome. Less welcome the 'Trifid' like Pendulous Sedge which can be imposing but has also become an invasive eye sore. Mid August, the wetland has succumbed to drought, but there are some interesting waterside flowers.Such as the yellow Monkey flower and the statuesque Water Dock .

A good, medium sized park. The play park section is large and my kids can play in there for an hour. The rest of the park is a bit less well tended since they lost the government funding for the wild flower centre. And there's no toilets or shop. But it's still a good alternative to Calderstones Park but not quite as big.

Absolutely love this pretty little park. I grew up nearby and in the 50 years I've been visiting this place, it's never lost it's charm. My pooch Louie loves his walks in summer here, as the tree canopy around the pathways gives plenty of cover. There's a cafe here too, which is always busy. And if you fancy a chill and a bit of cricket during the summer months, then you might get lucky catching a game while you eat an ice cream putch side. This is home to Whitefield (Roby) cricket club. The pitch is very well maintained, and has a cute pavilion. There's also a kids swing park near the cafe. And there's Court Hey bowling club, which has outdoor crown green bowling. A great addition in this park is bicycle workshop... Mersey Cycle. This place up-cycles some very affordable, decent prior owned bikes, and does repairs. There's good parking facilities, but it's small. I'd say comfortably enough for 60 + cars. On a sunny day you may struggle to find a space. It's the only downside...

We have been visiting Court hey park for many years. Since the revamp it looks fabulous. The new cafe is lovely. The reason why I didn’t give 5 stars, is because of the woeful lack/absence of disabled parking. One space is available!! And even that is often taken by a car with no blue badge. I can only imagine that the design architect has never pushed a wheelchair! Though there are very limited double yellow line spaces it’s a shame that Knowsley council has ignored our disabled population! Please do something about the serious lack of disabled parking and allow our disabled community the joy of visiting your lovely...
