I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Medicine Museum and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was captivated by the wealth of knowledge and history that surrounded me.

The exhibits are meticulously curated, providing a comprehensive and engaging insight into the evolution of medical practices and breakthroughs. Each display is accompanied by detailed explanations, making complex concepts accessible to all visitors.

One of the highlights was the interactive section, where visitors can try out historical medical instruments and gain a deeper appreciation for the progress that has been made in healthcare. It's both informative and entertaining, making it perfect for visitors of all ages.

The museum's layout is intuitive, guiding guests through different eras of medical history seamlessly. The attention to detail in recreating period-specific settings adds a layer of authenticity that truly immerses you in the past.

Moreover, the staff's knowledge and enthusiasm are palpable. They are more than willing to answer questions and share additional insights, enhancing the overall experience.

Overall, the Medicine Museum is a must-visit for anyone with an interest in medical history, science, or simply an appreciation for the incredible progress that has been made in the field of healthcare. It's a gem that deserves a prominent spot on...

I would have given this one star if it wasn't the victorian street at the beginning. It was fun and interesting at first, mainly the downstairs area where you learn about diseases and amputations. But upstairs was very tedious. Mainly just collectibles in glass cabinets and the information nowhere near the items. Most of the items and facts were from 1900-now (except the disease street) which made it more about modern medicine rather than the full history of medicine. It would have been better if the museum went in chronological order rather than being all over the place. There were some interactive items but not much. Eventually, there were tons of writing and not much to look at so it got tiring and tedious quite quickly. As a history and medicine fanatic, where is the black death information? Where's the medieval medicine? Half of history was missing it only spoke about the last 150 years or so. But it would be more interesting to find out about before that as that is more unknown to people!

Also, the cafe needs serious improvement. There was no choice but 3 or 4 packet sandwiches at very expensive prices. I bought an egg mayonnaise one but there was hardly any mayo and I kept finding hard bits of shell in it! I was excited to come here but I am very disappointed...

This place is amazing. I first went in 2022 (I think, I have the memory of a goldfish) and have ever since always been excited to come back. I understand people complaining it was too gory, or that it was too gruesome. But that's the whole point! Being a bit younger, I have always been a fan of horror, and Disease Street in itself could be best-selling horror movie. I love all the interactive elements and it engages others to come back. The first few times we wents, we also went to the cafe. Despite seeing alot of people complaining about the food, the quality is perfect. I've seen a select few people saying the pork pies were cold, but that's a pork pie really. A bit expensive but as long as it's worth it I really don't care. The gift shop it okay but there's alot that could be added, like chocolate medical sets, syringe pens, or maybe blood tie-dye sets (with dye of course) (they could be called 'Tie-Die') You may be asking 'why only 4 stars?' Well, it gets quite boring after a while. I'd love new areas. However, I know it takes time and I respect that. And I would also like more characters for disease street, like surgeons (I don't know anyone from the top of my head) In conclusion, give this place a chance (or second one), trust me, you...

I went to see the Plague Dress but found everything I saw along the way to be really interesting. The person at the welcome desk recommended following the arrow on the ground to see everything, which we did, but we were told you can look anywhere in any order. The main floor was host to a lot of old fashioned, historical medical pieces like shady cure alls and a very immersive 'disease street'. And the up the stairs housed the more modern things like prosthetics, iron lung units and x-ray machines. Sadly I saw someone trying to make the interactive quiz computer work in the bacteria exhibit but it wasn't responding. There was a school trip happening and they managed to get turned around and confused in the one-way part of the exhibits, but the staff were there very quickly to guide everyone correctly. The cafe was nice enough but the music they were playing was a little too loud for me to hear my friends. Other than that little thing, I really enjoyed myself.

A most quirky museum. The walk through victoriana england street pist choosing character cards to see who would survive and ref points to place cards into fascinating. Operating theatre films not for the faint hearted.. but then it does depict what did happen!! Some mist interesting facts and injustices pointed out such as an Austrian doctor who pointed out drs outcomes worse than midwifes due to poor hand washing..consequently his fellows put him in a lunatic asulym// Won't spoil surprize but some exhibits From famous/ infamous people revealing unknown facts. Lots of information...and thought provoking questions. Cafe OK. Shop interesting with some relevant books and fun novelities such as body parts and disease top trumps. If want car parking onsite go early and around 6.00 for 3 hrs. There is another car park less than 5 mins walk away on main road.
