A stunning area with well laid tracks around the lake. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the surroundings. I was walking down the track the other day and a muntjac deer just walked in front of me, it didn't seem to be too bothered by my presence. There are plenty of different species of animals in and around the lake. Unfortunately there are no toilets on site, but it is definitely a great place to wind down. There are fishermen around the lake as well, so being respectful to them also enjoying their past time would keep everyone happy. Dogs should be kept on the lead and under control. It isn't a good idea to let them jump in the lake as there are so many old sharp tree stumps around the edges, from when the lake was flooded. Also many lakes have the blue/green algae in them which can be fatal to a dog. Enjoy your time at the country park with so many wild flowers and well...
Read moreIt is a park by the side of some water so aptly named I feel. The electricity pylons are a notable feature. If you walk the circuit of the lake there is a bit where you can be nosey and look through the fence at the neighbouring boatyard which is always interesting. It is good for blackberry picking and the chutney I made goes very well with blue stilton. There are also miniature wild yellow plums if you know where and when to find them but these quickly get eaten by the birds. There are some burnt out stables, hope the horses escaped okay. The mound of manure mysteriously disappeared. Perhaps it got a...
Read moreGood parking, very dog friendly with lots of poo bins. Pleasant walk around the lake with areas we could paddle near the picnic area, and a few benches to rest. Mostly wide accessible path, which I think goes completely around the site, I may have gone 'off road' at one point though cos it got steep and narrow 🥴😁. Close to the Grand Union canal so longer walks can be made, and therefore accessible from town for a longer walk. Unfortunately no facilities on site, but it is very close to Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre, which presumably does have accessible toilets and possibly...
