Lots of activities spread around the park, including tennis courts, bowling nets and a cricket pitch; the Lido is a fine 1930s open-air swimming pool during the summer months (it gets rammed when the sun is out, but the early morning swims are a treat for the dedicated early-risers) but the facility is open year round with a gym, yoga classes, and meeting rooms. There's a fairly big BMX track which seems to offer plenty of humps and jumps. There is a 5n a community garden next door. The one o'clock club adjoins a great kids playground equipped with interesting climbing frames, tunnels, and swings. The park stretches out around a hill topped by the historic Brockwell House, which offers an okay park cafe, serving hot meals and light snacks. The roll of the terrain provides variety and interest to the eye, and there are wonderful views across to the Docklands, and up to the City and West End. The park is also home to some very mature and beutiful trees, that line the paths, gather to create glades, or stand magnificently apart. 2019 also saw the creation of a lovely natural meadow, which teemed with wild flowers such as daisies, buttercups, poppies and violets, which doubtless kept some local bees happy and honeyed termed with The grounds are well maintained by a core of staff, assisted in various areas by volunteers Open air concerts and other events during the summer months, although these can disrupt access to sections of the park for regular users. But overall it's a delightful local park offering a wide range of attractions to both regular and occasional visitors, and a focal point for all manner of community activities. Highly...

Came to Brockwell Park to celebrate the 50th year of the free Lambeth Country Show 🎉🥳💃🏿🎶🫶🏿🔥 Massive park that leads you to different parts of Brixton via the pathways with beautiful greenery. Friendly and family orientated environment and a perfect place to chill on your own or with your friends and family. Based near to the Brockwell Lido too. Videos uploaded are snippets from the Lambeth Country Show... (Not showing much of the greenery of Massiveness of the park itself? or some of the pathways that lead to other parts of Brixton in these videos as mentioned above! One now thinks that maybe I should have at least took a pic or two of a couple trees, a grass patch, spaces where you can chill on your own or with your family - (But unfortunately, you don't see that here 🫣) ... a couple twigs or least blue skies with the butterflies in the backdrop from a distance with an unknown dog springing like a blesbok 🦌, photo bombing an acrobatic back flip with ball caught in its mouth.) Oh dear... This is not really a 'Park' review, it is!...🤔 - I'm showing you images about a free live show that I went to see inside the park and not the actual park itself. 😏... It makes no sense.... I know 🤷🏿, I didn't actually chill and have a picnic, taking in Mother Nature, I just went to enjoy myself dancing whilst being surrounded by her tree trunks, twigs and...

Excellent Park. Huge with lots of lawn area but loads of trees if you want shade too. Park has a lot of features: walled garden with beautiful flowers community garden is amazing with sensory garden, mud kitchen, vegs and greens. the volunteers that keep the garden are great and they run some events every now and then. They just renovated part of the garden recently, so worth checking out! tennis and basketball courts (I never used them) brockwell lido ponds with ducks and swans Park cafe: currently under construction works, but usually very good with great variety of food, sandwiches, snacks, cakes, etc. FOR PEOPLE WITH KIDS: playground: amazing playground, we love it! Its a fairly big one, with lots of slides, bridges, climbing, houses, 2 sand pits, zipline, etc. Good for all ages, honestly. There is a small cafe just by the park. Not ideal for eating, but they'll have coffee/hot chocolate, ice creams and some snacks. They also have some hot food, but I've never tried it. kids train: Ecery Sunday in front of Lido for 2£/ride (kids must be accompanied by an adult). Ride starts close to the herne Hill Park entrance. water play: small but lots of fun. Can be packed in hot days, but kids absolutely love it "bmx track": there is a small bmx at the park, and it's currently being renovated. I dont know if it's...

Disappointing Experience at Mighty Hoopla I recently attended Mighty Hoopla, and I felt compelled to share my experience, especially given the high ticket price and the disappointing atmosphere. From the outset, it was clear that this event catered predominantly to a white LGBTQ+ audience. The demographic skew was heavily toward 70% lesbian attendees, with the remaining crowd consisting mostly of older individuals who, frankly, lacked the energy and edge I was hoping for. As a Latin man, I felt out of place and unwelcome throughout the event. The acts were underwhelming and felt like a third-class offering, which was surprising given the price of admission. I had anticipated a vibrant and inclusive celebration, but instead, I found a lack of diversity and representation that was disheartening. It’s essential for events like Mighty Hoopla to foster a sense of community and belonging for everyone, regardless of their background. Unfortunately, this event fell short in that regard, leaving me feeling isolated and disappointed. In summary, while I had high hopes for Mighty Hoopla, the experience did not live up to expectations. I would encourage the organizers to reflect on inclusivity and representation moving forward, as these elements are crucial for creating a truly welcoming environment.

The best experience for the whole family(can bring your dog too but on a tight leash). Kids can try out some farm tractors. A section for toilets and wash area. There was some sheep 🐑 competitions, a mountain ram with beautiful curled horns. Another section for birds of prey where we saw different sizes of owls, must have been eagles in another tent, just couldn't stop watching the owls. There was a science stall to build your own chromosomes (more colours with variety of differences), cookies 🍪 made by you to represent the Galaxy. Live stage music while bombarded with various smells of stall foods and special area for drinks in seating space where you can watch and listen to music. Bought some local bees honey 🐝 🍯 and a digitas foxgloves plant to add colour to my garden. There was a funfair in the next section for anyone interested and parking was bit further away to get you walking a bit more 😉 😀. The surrounding space was clean to bring a picnic mat to sit and eat.
