Cesar Well – A Hidden Gem for Nature Lovers

We visited on a Bank holiday in May. It’s nestled in serene surroundings, Cesar Well is a breathtaking haven for those seeking peace and tranquility. The area is surrounded with tall pine trees planted in circle. It offers a perfect escape into nature, ideal for leisurely strolls, scenic exploration, and refreshing picnics.

One of its standout features is the natural drinking spring water, a refreshing treat that both my little doggie and I enjoyed.

Whether you're enjoying a peaceful moment alone or adventuring with your furry friend, this picturesque spot is highly recommended for a visit. If you're looking for a place to unwind and reconnect with nature, Cesar Well is an excellent choice, we absolutely...

It’s a hole in the ground, or rather a filled in former hole surrounded by some rocks a local MP added in the late 1800s. The spring was tapped a little further down the hill and had been a source of drinking water ever since. The boast that this has never dried up, even in the 1976 heatwave is now moot as today it was completely dry. The well is situated in a very nice ring of pines so sitting a while under the shade is highly recommended. There’s always a draw towards local natural sources of water. If you’re walking on the common it’s worth seeking out but not significant enough to make a...

The ancient well, named after Caesar, is believed to date back to Neolithic times. It sadly dried up in the early 20th century, however, a boring was made slightly downhill, so the spring water now flows out of a standpipe and into a large cistern.

It is a magical prehistoric site that I...

Nice bit of history…now just a good watering hole for dogs. Stop off here most days. Very quiet, very peaceful and right next to the golf course with picnic spots and benches close by. Lovely in the summer, include it as a stop off on your next walk near Wimbledon Common!
