I wouldn't go here for the bridge There is really very little to see or do here. There is quite a nice walk along the Thames, but it's about a mile downstream before you get anywhere. Upstream you are fairly close to Kew pier where you can catch a tourist boat up or down the Thames. If you walk inland, the bridge is next to the public records office at Kew and about 15mins from Kew Gardens. The bridge itself doesn't seem anything special. Positioned far enough away from the road bridges to experience some peace and quiet by the riverside, unfortunately the noise of the regular train service is very intrusive.
If a footbridge could be attached to the structure, this would provide a very useful additional route to access the Kew Retail Park, Kew village and the Records Office on the south bank. Also to Strand on the Green, Grove Park and Chiswick mainline on the north bank.
