Princess of Wales Conservatory was opened by Princess Diana in 1987 and is divided in to several tropical zones and hosts the renowned Orchid Festival in February of each year. Some dazzling sights with the succulents and cactus areas which are really impressive with many different varieties. Also if you are really lucky you might spot one of the very beautiful Chinese Water Dragons, I have posted a photo. A really special place to visit, been there many times and never get tired of it as there is always something to see Orchid Festival 2020 starts February 8th theme is Indonesia going to be great Such a shame Kew Gardens is shut due to the Pandemic and cannot wait for my first visit back

This is the super contemporary edge of Kew, such a broad variety under one roof, all split into sections that lead nicely into each other. Generally, really nicely maintained and laid out. I was a little disappointed in the carnivorous plants section to see that a lot of the plants I went into that section to see seemed dead or dying, but perhaps it’s off season or the weather has just been a bit challengingly warm. Would definitely recommend though.

One highlight of Kew not to be missed is the Princess of Wales conservatory. It's home to some of most amazing collections of Orchards as well as the giant lily pads. There are several levels and one of best views of the lily pads is the upper level. There is also a large collection of cactus with some wonderful displays. Quick update, there is currently an orchid event which runs until 6th March displaying orchids from Costa Rica.

With an area of almost 4500 square metres, the Princess of Wales Conservatory is one of the three major glasshouses at Kew. Opened by Princess Diana in 1987 the glasshouse is home to tropical plants including orchids, bromeliads and cacti separated into different climatic zones. The conservatory is host to the Orchid Festival, coming alive with a intensely vibrant display of colour.
