Right, several years ago this used to be a large field with very little for anyone to enjoy, but now, oh wow, its a really pleasant and rich of activity lovely park. It's split in many spaces/sections and it has most of the amusements you would find in a modern park, such as, a fenced space for little children to play, a pirate wooden boat for older children, an open gym for anyone to use with a good number of machines, it has a large parking space, a lovely local café with food and coffee for everyone to enjoy, at the other side, a large field with a basketball pitch for everyone. But it doesn't ends here, if you adventure yourself, the park extends even more on to another large field, then you can choose, there are several ways to get to the other park spaces, one of them goes along Orient Way where they transformed this passage in a pleasant walk rich of small trees and flowers, and when you reach the end, you'll end up into a new park space where, there are modern football pitches, and few more sport activities such as a fantastic new beach volley pitch. I mean what can you ask more from a local park? I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy on whatever you...
Read moreIf it was more like the Clissold, Victoria or Valentines Parks it would get 5 stars but it is what it is. I personally don't, but people used to have barbecue parties there which I believe is now banned due to fire hazards I guess. Dogs have to be on a lead now but most people seem to ignore those signs. There aren't any park benches only picnic type table benches which are hard to negotiate when you have mobility problems or are just elderly. It has a gym area and also some activities for little ones. There is a cafe which has set times but very rarely opens on time. However when it is open it serves good food and yummy cakes and the coffee is lovely. The park is popular with families (for keeping little ones busy for an hour), dog walkers and joggers but there's a feel of something missing. We also wish that it was better lit at night because there are too many dark areas for people to hide in and they do so most avoid cutting through the park in Winter or at night. All in all its kind of picturesque at times and has its uses but not for an all day stay, even...

Some locals reject the new posh sobriquet and still refer to the area as Marsh Lane Fields. Fortunately local pressure has resisted attempts to build over this site, most notably at the recent London Olympics. The park itself is incredibly well maintained, and the construction of well-made paths which replaced the original dirt tracks makes it conducive for a pleasant stroll, especially alongside the Dagenham Brook which passes through the park before it flows into the river Lea. In addition there is a children's playground to the north as well as the Ive Farm football pitches to the south. Midway there is a delightful little cafe with...
