Absolutely loved it! Went for a walk around Hall Place in the sunshine and stumbled across this with no prior plans or knowledge it was even there. But I had such a lovely experience and it really made my day. The lady who works there is really kind and very friendly and it was only £8. There are benches inside so you can sit and enjoy the peacefulness and calm and watch the butterflies fly around as well as walking around the garden and watching them. I will definitely go back sometime, if I had planned to go I would have been more prepared and taken a bottle of water as obviously the environment is warm for the butterflies and if I had planned that would have meant I could stay a bit longer as I was a bit dehydrated already from walking about in Hall Place in the sun, totally my own fault and I really did want to stay longer (you can also go back using your ticket later in the day I just didn't have time otherwise I would have) Really lovely thing to do for anyone who likes peacefulness and calm. And it's quite fun if one of the butterflies lands on you! Personally would recommend going first THEN walking around the park, and take a drink if it's a hot day, learn from...

Fantastic tropical paradise recreated by a dedicated and knowledgable team of really hard working , determined lepidopterists. They are backed by some incredibly handy people who have repaired and restored this neglected abandoned greenhouse. Transforming it into a value for money , well organised and fascinating exhibit that compliments Hall Place and it’s stunning surroundings , Free parking which in itself a small miracle in any borough of Bexley and easy access for all ages and abilities means this place is a must see for anyone interested in butterflies or conservation of habitats. A lovely gift shop with relevant souvenirs and lots to attract younger guests compliments the all round friendly and relaxing atmosphere in this attraction. Full marks to Matt , Ian, Phil and all of the staff and volunteers !! You all succeed in creating and running a beautiful butterfly garden that is an absolute diamond in the crown of an already great day out at Hall Place and Gardens . Would recommend to anyone who likes nature and beauty at...

A genuine gem hidden in plain sight. Located literally a stone’s throw from the A2, the Butterfly Gardens are the perfect balm on a cold February day. Take advantage of ample free parking, hang up your coats in the cloakroom and then step through the doors into a wall of heat. The greenhouse is kept at a glorious 30C and is set out on a circular route around the central pool and mature plants with plenty of benches set along the path to simply sit and enjoy. As for the main attraction – the butterflies – there are hundreds of individuals and tens of species ranging from the size of your thumb to the size of your palm. We spent more than an hour here which at £6.50pp is a stone cold bargain. As I understand it, under 5s are currently free of charge and I would highly recommend this attraction for little ones.
