What a disappointment; I visited this restaurant on Friday with a group of around twenty for my mother in law's 60th birthday celebrations.
As the last reviewer mentioned, as soon as you walk in the noise hits you. You had to shout to be heard by the person next to you so you can imagine the chaos when ordering food. The place was packed and tables too close to each other.
All this might have been acceptable if the food was good quality but firstly it is not an all you can eat buffet. You pay £17.50 per head; a variety of starter dishes are brought to your table to share amongst the group and then you order a main from a list on a flimsy disposable paper menu. The starters were standard fare but the mains we ordered came back all jumbled or the wrong dishes were brought out. I ordered lamb and being in my late thirties I'm pretty sure what lamb flesh looks and tastes like; it wasn't lamb although I was assured by two different miserable waiting staff that it was. My main course was cold and tasted like it was stale with starchy awful tasting special fried rice. Almost all of my party were very unimpressed with the main meals and the sullen manner in which they was served. My partner ordered several dishes since it was meant to be all you can eat but only one was brought to him. Drinks had to be ordered by going to the bar and bringing back to your own table. They were not included in the meal price.
I feel we were paying for the DJs fees and feel ripped off, having paid over £80 for our direct family of 5 and still feeling unsatisfied hunger wise. Do not go to Twin Palace restaurant if you want quality, value for money or a sophisticated environment; it's like a (gone off) meat market and I might add that the toilets are...
Read moreThe doors opened and I was blasted with high pitched laughter, shouting voices and a scene of complete chaos. The large restaurant was packed wall to wall with tables, far more than was appropriate as I could not pull out my chair to sit down, without asking the lady on the table behind me to move forward!!! The waiting staff looked miserable, they forgot to bring out our orders and asked us to hand the plates along our table to our fellow diners, as there was no room for them to move between the tables, this meant that my plate had been handled by ten people by the time it reached me!!! The food was OK for a cheap' eat as much as you can' buffet but the Twin Palace is not cheap and not a buffet, as you have to order each dish. My total meal comprised of two chicken satay, a mouthful of seaweed and a duck pancake, after that I gave up trying to get any more and visited the loo, how I wish I had gone before I left home!!! 3 cubicles for over 150 women to share, the men had one cubicle!!! So if you are looking for a night out with poor service, miserable staff and no space to move, The Twin Palace is the place, enjoy!!! Oh and if you are unlucky enough to be seated on a table on the dance floor, you had better eat quick as they move you off to start the...
Read moreWe ordered take away yesterday in the restaurant because the restaurant was closing at 9 pm. Yesterday was our last date in the hotel opposite the restaurant.
We planned to have a nice meal for our last night.
we ordered five dishes and took the bag to hotel without checking because we trusted them not to make mistakes as we were the last order before they closed.
When we arrived back to hotel, we noticed one dish missing. We called and went back to get it. When we got back and opened all containers, noticing that they put wrong food for us. We ordered curry chicken and satay prawns. They put satay chicken instead of prawns. We called and they apologised and told us that they couldn’t do anything because they were closed.
The food tasted so bad even worse than microwaveable meals as they got everything ready in 5 minutes. We threw most of them away in the bin in the end and went to restaurant in the hotel to get better food.
We were extremely disappointed about their service and food and won’t recommend anyone to try their food and we will definitely not go there in the future anymore. Waste of...
