Moat Mount Outdoors Centre — Attraction in London

The Centre is very well run and caters for all ages, offering supervised team-building activities, including archery. The accommodation block is clean and welcoming, with full kitchen facilities. Camping areas can also be booked and there toilet/shower facilities (for bookings only). Additionally, there are good barbeque areas (barbeques are not currently permitted elsewhere in Moat Mount). A fairly bizarre oasis of greenery next to the A1. The open grass area at the front leads to a wooded trail up a rather steep incline where there is a virtually forgotten about pond; home to a Heron and a coot. This seems part of some hidden trail across this part of North London but I didn't venture any further. Parking is alongside the A1 in a rubbish strewn layby not sure I could recommend this place for much. It has be said that from the A1 this doesn't look the most prepossessing sort of place. But once you get away from the main road and the parked cars it's a remarkably attractive area of woodland. Paths snake upwards through the trees and around ponds in a pleasing manner and if you venture far enough you'll find a nice grassy area.
