Mudchute Animal Farm is a hidden gem in the heart of London—a peaceful escape where city life fades into the background, replaced by the charm of farm animals and open green spaces. Nestled on 32 acres of countryside, just a stone’s throw from Canary Wharf, this farm offers a refreshing contrast to the urban skyline. 🏙️🌿
From the moment I stepped in, I felt transported to a rural haven. The llamas, with their curious expressions and gentle demeanor, were an absolute delight. 🦙 They seemed just as interested in us as we were in them! The goats were lively and playful, eagerly trotting up to visitors in hopes of a snack. 🐐 Their mischievous antics made for some great photos. And then there were the horses, standing tall and majestic, exuding a quiet grace. 🐎 Watching them roam freely was a calming experience.
One of the best things about Mudchute is how interactive it is. Unlike some farms where animals are kept at a distance, here you can get up close, feed them, and even pet them under supervision. The farm staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to share fun facts about the animals. 🏡✨
Beyond the animals, the farm itself is beautifully maintained. The lush greenery, winding paths, and open fields make it a perfect spot for a relaxing stroll. 🌳 Whether you’re visiting solo, with friends, or bringing kids along, there’s something for everyone. The farm also has a café, where you can grab a bite and soak in the peaceful surroundings. ☕🍰
What makes Mudchute truly special is its community-driven spirit. It’s not just a farm—it’s a conservation site, dedicated to preserving rare breeds and educating visitors about sustainable farming. The fact that such a place exists in the middle of London is incredible. 🌍💚
If you’re looking for a unique day out, Mudchute Animal Farm is a must-visit. Whether you’re an animal lover, a photographer, or just someone in need of a break from city life, this farm offers a perfect blend of nature, learning, and relaxation. 📸🐾
Would I recommend it? Absolutely! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A hidden oasis in London that deserves all the love and attention it gets. If you haven’t been yet, add it to your list—you won’t regret...
Read moreThe cafe has significantly declined! They changed ownership last year and bought it 'in-house' and now it's like some low rent greasy spoon complete with lip-filler chav waitresses who don't know how to work an espresso machine. Gone is the smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and sourdough bread. Instead burgers, chips and the special of the day jacket potatoes, which used to already be on the menu and certainly weren't touted as being a special. The icecream bar is gone, instead you can buy a magnum or a Cornetto for over £3. It's honestly really dire, i know the previous waitresses weren't the friendliest, but at least they knew how to make good food and coffee. You can't even get a chai latte now. As for the farm, well it's pretty much the same as last year but there's no Donkey rides as all the Donkeys went off to a sanctuary. One set of toilets didn't have running water (not even for flush) and when this was bought to Staff attention, they told the Chef, I'm not sure what the chef was expected to do? The prices have increased for things like Animal feed (£1.50) and animal petting (£4.50 per child to stroke a chicken). The farm shop doesn't sell anything other than animal feed, fizzy drinks and some pens. The farm used to do activities like crafts during the holidays but this is also gone. Stepney city farm is a better day out for a...
