Do not go here Firstly I have been to midpoint about 8 times in total and I have even recommended it for a work even where we were a big party that attended. Never again! Both me my sister and our daughter one each came here with her baby too. In the beginning the service was good we were served by a nice waiter who then had to leave I think at the end of his shift. Then we’re served by another waiter. He mentioned to my sisters daughter just aged 7 that he would give her a sweet and my daughter slightly older asked for one. Our bill was £126.40 no alcohol and this was two adults and two kids. Service charge made it 140 and we decided not to pay however we gave the waiter a tip after. The waiter then said he would go and bring a sweet for my daughter. We were waiting for a long time and realised we were sitting there waiting for a sweet! Only to find when we decided to leave that the waiter was sitting down avoiding coming back with a so called lollipop! We are not in need of mere sweets for goodness sake and when we signalled we were still here he came up to us and said “sorry because you didn’t pay the service charge I can’t give you a sweet!” I mean really?!?!? We gave you a tip and we really couldn’t care less about a sweet but it’s the way he had told a child he was bringing it and then came out with the reason why he wasn’t then going to give one that was really baffling! I asked to speak to the manager who really wasn’t ready to allow me to even speak- I had to ask to even finish my sentence he said well from next year service charge is compulsory unless you are not happy with the service why didn’t you pay a service charge. Missing the whole point that this waiter was actually given cash as a tip! £5 better than absolutely nothing. At the end of the day it’s. A choice to pay a service charge or not and as a restaurant manager or owner or shift manager it is no way to treat paying customers who came to dine in your restaurant. The manager went into a long speech about service charge being compulsory. I have been to this restaurant eight times and have paid service charge most times and tipped the waiters. I am extremely disappointed and I will not be returning here. Thanks for...
Read moreExtremely Disappointed with the Food and Experience I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent, very upsetting experience at this Turkish restaurant. I visited with my young daughter, and we were both very hungry, looking forward to a good meal. Unfortunately, what we encountered was incredibly disappointing. I ordered lamb chops and specifically requested well-done — not rare, not medium — but thoroughly cooked. When the dish arrived, the meat was still visibly raw and bloody inside, completely inedible. We politely sent it back, giving them a chance to correct the issue. Despite their efforts to recook and then prepare a completely new portion, the second attempt was even worse — the lamb was redder and more undercooked than the first, with blood still present. At this point, I was not only frustrated but also extremely upset. My daughter was hungry and distressed, and the situation was handled poorly. We even offered to leave to avoid further inconvenience, but the staff insisted on redoing the dish — only to serve us something even more unacceptable. I called to speak to their manager but they were not tolerating and gave up with the customer service took the plate and left. What should have been a simple, enjoyable meal turned into a stressful and upsetting ordeal. For a restaurant that specializes in meat dishes, this lack of basic cooking execution — and failure to meet a very clear request — is unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I would strongly caution others who expect their food to be...
Read moreTouting itself as a Turkish restaurant, cafe and bar, it is located by the riverside offering beautiful views. Although, the riverside isn’t really visible from inside, which isn’t the restaurants fault, but its location seems to be one of its main appeals.
Inside, it feels quite bland and confusing. There is brown wooden flooring, wooden aged tables and brown leather chairs. Throw in some hanging plants, coloured salt & pepper grinders, a telephone box and it does leave you questioning where the culture is exactly.
With a group of four friends, I ordered the Chicken Sarma Beyti with Ayran. The food was brought out quickly and it was warm. The Ayran tasted good, even if a little watered down. The main course while filling, was lacking flavour, punch and the meat to bread ratio was heavily siding with the bread - the inclusion of cheese was not welcome neither.
The main issue with this dish is that it cost £23.50.. I appreciate the location is uplifting the price, but this didn’t feel like good value. While the portion was ok, the chicken meat per wrap and flavour doesn’t justify the cost for me and more could be had for less.
Service was professional, fast, but perhaps too fast as we felt hurried towards the end of our meal, constantly approached to check if we were finished in the middle of conversation. Finally, restaurant staff should avoid reaching across tables to serve guests, so that their arm isn’t stretched across guests face, not a...
