We went on a Saturday for a women’s only session and was given slippers and a ticket for the lockers. After we got changed we were given a tour of the rooms available and was able to explore by ourselves. Before treatment of the Kassar scrub we were given 10mins in advance to go to the sauna to soften our skin before being scrubbed, foamed, washed and massaged. The experience is worth the money, clean and popular. I would recommend and also consider coming back. I felt so relaxed that I took a nap later on in the day. We were given a two hour time slot, Kassar scrub was approximately 20mins and the rest of the time we jumped from the ice room, Sauna, steam room, showers, pool and jacuzzi. FYI the pool is cold whereas the jacuzzi is warm. The venue was frequently cleaned and we left with our skin feeling smooth and shiny. The Old Hammam & Spa was a short walk away from Edmonton station, easy to locate. You do need to bring your own towel unless you want to pay to use one. Shampoo and body wash are available inside. At the front reception you can purchase the Kassar mits at £15 each and you can choose the roughness of the glove to suit you. All staff were very kind and friendly.

What a super experience. The venue is very easy to get to as only 2 mins walk from Edmonton Green overground which is only 4 stops from Seven Sisters/Victoria Line. Walk round the corner and onto Church Road and there is a sign on the side of the building so you helpfully know you are heading in the right direction. On entering we were greeted warmly and professionally and then escorted to the changing rooms. We had brought towels but had the wrong type of flip flops and they had the right size for free - thanks. They were also very comfortable. After changing we were given a guided tour and the place is amazing and super clean - really very clean which makes for a fabulous experience. Sauna, Steam, Ice Room, Jacuzzi and a lovely Swimming Pool...our hour before our treatments was spent really enjoying the facilities. We tried everything before heading into the Hammam for our scheduled scrub, foam wash and massage. We both came out saying what fabulous therapists who performed our treatments - thanks! Would highly recommend and one of the best Hammams in London.

I went to Hammond spa for a birthday present brought for my partner. It was totally different from what I was expecting. It's a hidden gem In the middle of Edmonton. Once inside the staff were very polite. It's is extremely clean and you can see the staff take this very seriously in their job role. Ladies with long hair must wear a shower cap , flip flop must be worn at all times. Towels, shower caps etc can all be purchased at the front desk fairly cheap. There is a lovely Jacuzzi, steam room, swimming pool, sauna and also an Ice room. The foam massage was plesent but was only 15 minutes long. Longer treatments were offered. It almost felt like I was in another country once inside, not Edmonton. When we came out we was offered Turkish tea, and there was a bar. Overall a very relaxing experience. I would 100% return again.

Have been here twice. First time it was just me and my mum- I took her for her birthday and paid £120 each for the majestic morrocan package.

We were SO impressed and even given extra time in the treatement room.

The second time we encouraged my sister to come who is very cautious with her money, we split the cost of my mum’s treatment and all had the majestic morrocan package again.

It was remarkably busier the second time being half term but this really showed in the treatment room.

The treatments felt really rushed. We started with the exfoliation which I felt was rushed and she ignored the problem areas I pointed out to her before we started- I felt a lot of my body eg armpits and feet were neglected with the exfoliating mitt. Onto the Turkish bath -I asked my masseuse/therapist to slow down as I wasn’t relaxed due to the fact she was running her hands up and down my whole body in the same motion very quickly and repetitively- she ignored me and carried on as she was doing.

Because my hair style is shaved and part of the package is a hair mask the first time the lovely therapist/masseuse told me she would give me an extra massage to replace this.

Back to the most recent visit, I not only didn’t get anything swapped for the hair mask but we left the treatment room earlier than the previous time (clearly so they could clean up for the next lot of guests waiting- I watched them do this so I know it’s true, in which case- why book back to back treatments??) I felt very disappointed, I didn’t enjoy the treatments and largely felt embarrassed for praising it so highly and convincing my sister to part with a decent amount of cash.

There’s nothing worse than a bad massage/spa package for me because you should be relaxing and I spent all of the treatment time just getting frustrated because I wasn’t enjoying it and when I told her she didn’t do anything differently.

I won’t be...

I brought my boyfriend to a hammam for the first time and I felt embarrassed with the attitude we have experienced. I want to say, facilities are nice, cleanliness was nice and foam/massage was nice but you enter and there is this blonde lady just asks what’s your name and puts a pen in your hand to sign a weaver. No welcome, no smile. We got some water while going in and she stood there as if she got annoyed we were making her wait. Extremely cold. I want to ask to people who put her to front desk, have you ever been to a hammam?? It’s a welcoming and warm experience you really let me down to bring my boyfriend there. I was sooooo excited for it. Anyway we come in, and we see hammam is not heated and we can’t even sit in it until we get our package massages. Me and another random lady try to talk to her saying that’s what we paid for and it’s misleading in their website if it’s only spa, because some of us actually LOVE HAMMAMS, and she just argues with us plain argument way. Saying it’s summer. Yes we know it’s 24 degrees out there but we are here for the relaxing hammam experience? I have been to hammams in Turkey, Morocco and UK this was literally the first time I have seen such an attitude and a service. If you don’t run your hammam you should state that in your website when selling a hammam package. Ladies who did the hammam service were so nice and smiley so I don’t put it to 1 star for this. Because genuinely with a different management staff this place would have deserved five starts. Such a shame. But congratulations guys, I was always proud that I would never bothered to give bad reviews to anywhere, no airbnbs nothing but you are the first! Will not be coming again. Worst service in a spa/hammam I have ever seen as a Turkish person. I hope you change with a nice warm person who understands customer service....

The spa is clean and the staff are friendly. I joined the spa with a friend and we had booked a treatment. My friend made the booking and she was told that the spa was mixed day with both men and women using the facilities. The therapist came over to us to let us know that we were having our treatment in 10mins and not to use the pool or jacuzzi. After 10mins she came over and took us in the treatment room. When you walk in it is a very big room with a big marble table in the centre of the room and sinks around the outside of the table. The therapist asked me to sit on the edge of the table and another therapist joined who asked my friend to sit on the other side of the table. Then another 2 therapist joined with 2 more clients, another female and a male. We were all in the same room and all four of us were asked to lay down on the table. They begin by throwing buckets of water on you and then start to massage you. As they massage you they take off the top half off your swimsuit so you are now topless. They do not ask if they can do this! Both myself and my friend felt very uncomfortable especially with a man in the room with us. Also the treatment room door was open and other people could see in. The massage continues with the then covering you with soap and bubbles and continuing to massage you and at times over your chest. It ends with you standing up and buckets of water being poured over you. I felt very uncomfortable and didn’t enjoy the experience. If you choose to have a treatment make sure you ask if men will be in the room with you, whether you need to be topless and ask for the treatment room door to be closed. They never mention any of this to us before our treatment. I will never use this place again I felt...
