Just had the loveliest day at The Rookery Garden in Streatham! Went with my mate who's terrified of dogs and this place was perfect for her. First off, there's a really nice cafe right before you go into the garden itself. We grabbed some food and drinks there - they do lovely sandwiches and cakes, proper good quality stuff. Great way to fuel up before exploring! The garden is honestly beautiful. So many gorgeous plants and flowers everywhere, really well looked after. What's brilliant is that dogs aren't allowed in certain areas, which meant my friend could actually relax and enjoy herself without constantly worrying. She was so much more at ease than usual - it made such a difference. We wandered around for ages just taking it all in. The flowers were stunning and there's loads of variety. Really peaceful atmosphere too, felt like we were miles away from London. Nice paths to walk on and plenty of spots to sit and chat. Would definitely recommend this place, especially if you're with someone who's not keen on dogs or if you just want somewhere quiet and pretty to spend a few hours. It's become one of our new favorite spots! Will...

The rookery contains beautiful gardens in the upper hill section of Streatham Common. The Gardens and Park have won past awards. Having lived right beside the Common in the distant past, it is a place of freedom & bliss from busy city life. From the elevated part of the Common near the gardens, one has good views of the city on a clear day. It contains a beautiful pond, various planter beds with many array of plants & flowers. It contains streams through rock gardens which creates a tranquil setting. The woodlands have an abundance of wildlife. The Park & Gardens are on the English Heritage's Register of Historic Parks and Gardens and were given the recognition as a "Site of Nature Conservation." In 1913 the community bought it & took charge of it. Credit is due to all the groups involved down through the generations in managing it. It is well worth a visit & stop off...

What a gorgeous spot!! It might be the prettiest garden in London even. Filled to the brim with tons of different plants and flowers, lots of little ponds with lilly pads and fish. You could spend hours here, strolling about and admiring the beauty - or sat in one of the benches with a coffee thermos and a good book. Either way, you must pay a visit here. There is also an incredible market the third Saturday of every month from February to November - I was so impressed with the quality and variety of the vendors. Not to mention, this beautiful garden is surrounded by an expansive and stunning Streatham Common which is bursting with beauty. Plus, it's got one of the coolest children's playgrounds, a paddling pool, a lovely hilltop to watch the sunset - you won't be disappointed if you plan to spend a whole day...

As your eyes follow the pond round, you'll see there's another pond on the terrace above. Follow it up the hill further and a whole waterfall comes into sight, complete with stepping stones to help you cross the 1ft flow of water. Without leaving London, the most imaginative of urban explorers can feel like they're trekking the rainforests of South America, or the mountain slopes of the Himalayas. Before you know it, you've followed the waterfall back up to the pristine lawn where you started, giving you the choice of taking it all in from one of the plentiful benches, or doing it all again.
