Visit Orkney — Attraction in Mainland

The staff are really helpful and knowledgable --- but it is difficult to work with what's available. The X1 only passes some of the mainland's sites. A lot of sites are still only opening for the high season. And then as a solo traveller you are left with no choice of booking a taxi to get back from its forthmost attraction. Such helpful staff and information. We used public transportation to get around Orkney and had no trouble to do so. The limited bus service and cabs on Sunday just meant we had to get ourselves organized...
