Sadly a little rundown in places. It does appear that a start on improvement has been made but when you get away from the two main stands, it looks a bit tired. As for catering, the steak pie was awful! Overcooked and reheated to within an inch of it's life. The catering and bar area are not very inviting and as a non-regular I didn't feel enthusiastic about approaching it. In terms of the bar, they had a very limited range. The only 'ales' they had were 'Smooth' and a gassy keg IPA. I did wonder why they had 6(?) hand-pumps on show. These catering facilities were only at one end of the ground I.e. for 'home' fans. You can walk in the shade alongside the Dean Brook and it's so quiet and peaceful it's almost like being in the country. There's loads of wild flowers - some quite rare, butterflies, dragon flies hovering over the dipping pond.
At the Nuthurst Rd end, above St Mary's primary school, there is a more formal part of the park, with bowling green, basketball court and children's playground. There is also a large playing field to the west across...
Read moreYes this is not a football stadium - it's a beautiful Park. Well worth a visit. I didn't know this but Broadhurst Park in Moston consists several areas: A large playing field; where you can play football, take the familiy, have a picnic, fly a kite or even take the dog for a walk ( as long as you remember to pick up after your dog) or just somewhere to sit a chill. There is also Wet Land park (which is a Site of Biological Interest SBI) with lots of nature to enjoy which leads onto an informal park with big mature trees, blackberry bushes galore and fruit trees to enjoy. Both these parks have good footpaths so you can walk around whatever the weather. There is also a pond which attracts ducks and other...
