I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Fairway Inn, again, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.

The food I ordered was absolutely delightful.

The Hot Honey Chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy, with just the right amount of heat from the hot honey glaze. It was a flavour explosion in every bite.

The Ultimate Burger was a masterpiece. The combination of the beef patty, buttermilk chicken breast, slow cooked brisket, beer battered onion rings, mature cheddar, and BBQ sauce created a symphony of flavors that left me wanting more. Visited last Saturday (31/3/2018)

Recently refurbished internally and externally, with a nice atmosphere within and plenty of shelter or shade right outside the main door.

Radically changed layout which is much easier to navigate than the previous Broadway Hotel incarnation, light and with plenty of local history on display. Very many TVs too, ideal if you’re visiting for a pint to watch the big match.

Food is out of this world. We had the Cheese and Onion Pie and Fish and Chips. The pie came with chips and baked beans with cheese sauce in a small gravy boat, the fish and chips came with peas and separate tartare sauce. Both were hot and full of flavour, portions served were exceptionally satisfying.

The downsides however are:

The pub was quite crowded when we visited. At the time there were no major football matches on, however the place is clearly very popular as we found it difficult to find a place to sit initially. We called prior to our visit to enquire about bookings and were told they don’t take bookings. This is something they should look into at some stage.

Accessibility is a slight issue. One of our party was a wheelchair user and although there was plenty of room within to manoeuvre the chair to tables, and a manageable ramp installed to the door, one of the two decorative planter troughs flanking the door also partially blocks the ramps top end, forcing a perilous move very close to two steps to ground level both when arriving and leaving the premises. This requires urgent attention before there is an accident.
