Wythenshawe Park Riding Stables Ltd — Attraction in Manchester

Tried 17 times to get through to this place, at varying times and on different days - no one ever picked up the phone. Said as much to the woman working there when I turned up to try and book a riding lesson for my daughter, and was told very rudely, "Yeah, well we're busy."

Foolishly, we went ahead and booked a lesson - we were told to turn up 10 minutes early today, which we did. When we arrived, the staff were sitting at a picnic bench, smoking and eating. They paid no attention to us whatsoever, until we approached a gate reading "Entry for riding lessons", at which point the yard manager turned round and yelled, "Uh, can I help you?"

We told her we were there for a lesson - she looked at us for a moment, then turned her back, got out her phone and started showing pictures to her colleagues.

We were not told how long we would have to wait, or offered any kind of drink, or told to sit - we were literally ignored.

We waited until about two minutes to two, then got up and left. The staff watched us leave and said nothing. I doubt very much that this complaint will be taken seriously - most critical reviews seem to be met with excuses and/or accusations of lying.

I would not recommend Wythenshawe Park Riding Stables to anyone. Rude, unprofessional, run-down (and no, it's not because it's a heritage site - it's because there's overgrown weeds, manure and litter all...

I had an extremely disappointing experience with the riding school. Staff was very rude, and its expensive. They give lessons for half an hour for beginners but the lesson is essentially for 20 mins. I had booked a session with them for a lesson however turned up a little early for the class. I was offered to walk the horse which I happily accepted. When I came back I was told there’s no lesson now as I could either walk the horse or take the lesson. It was NOT made clear to me at all. They also forgot to take my payment because the staff was in a rush for the next class, but I stood there and and waited for some time to make the payment. Please dont waste your money. My child has been riding here since April 2023 and is absolutely loving it!! The staff are safety focused and patient with the kids. They really encourage my child’s riding abilities and show creative ways to strengthen the areas that need working on. We’ve developed a great friendship with several other families who also have children who ride here and everyone is so supportive. The horses are absolutely amazing with both kids and adults and we love seeing their personalities come out during the lessons and our visits in between. We would highly recommend WPRS to anyone interested in starting out on their equestrian journey and look forward to seeing how far our child can go as we progress through the various levels of training...
