Read moreWythenshawe has something for everyone, I don't often visit as I have parks more local to me but when I do go I enjoy it. The playground has had a few improvements, there are now bouncy floor trampolines, just big enough for 2 small kids to go on together. The swings have become more accessible. The main play frame has had a wooden castle structure erected around it which makes it look more appealing now. The frame itself hasn't changed. As improvements go it's good but I have taken a star because they didn't update the handrail on the main frame. It's an absolute health and safety issue for me and annoys me. All the expenses and they couldn't improve that small thing! The rail is adequate for taller older children and adults, but smaller children cannot reach it so it can be a very precarious climb up the steps. Ridiculous. The farm remains the same, pigs and piglets, cows, hens, chickens, goats and ducks. It's a nice contained farm, used for teaching I think. It's clean as farms go. You can buy feed for the birds in the shop (£1 for a very small amount), do be aware the goats are very cheeky. They escape their area to steal the bags from you and are not in the slightest bit sorry. There are some lovely walks around the grounds, the fields, and the garden area. Very pleasant. Sadly, the main cafe is no longer there and in its place are 2 separate vans to order from in the courtyard. One sells hot snacks and the other hot drinks. Both are pricey but good quality. Free parking. If you join the Facebook page you will find all the activities and events...
Read moreSo the park overall plenty to see and do. There is a Car park close by with disability spaces available .The farm area was filled with animals needs a bit of care towards areas like walk areas aren’t made muddy especially on a very hot day, animals need accessible water on such hot days which I did not see around. There is no wash basin after petting the animals so people tend to go to the toilets which one is open and a lot of waiting and because people needed to clean hands there was tissue all over the floor and was dirty. Needs a bit of cleaning tbh and the animals seemed very hot and dehydrated especially when the wether was 30 degrees. The animals were Trembling and I’m not sure if it was because of the weather.
The cafe situated on the left of the park serves lovely food with home made pizzas which were delicious, plenty of drinks and also plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. There is also bathroom facility near. Overall perhaps on a cooler day I would have loved to walked a little more...
