Holy Cross, Crediton — Attraction in Mid Devon

Exquisite and lavish inside, filled with architectural and monumental delights it has to be one of the most ornate and impressive parish churches I have ever visited. There were 2 knowledgeable folk inside who very kindly pointed out some of the very special features including effigies dating to the 1300s a medieval sedilia still with some original colour on it and a beautiful Norman font. The stained glass is all stunning. An interesting mix of periods from Norman through to medieval and middle ages with quite substantial victorian restoration. This is a wonderful, peaceful Church. When I visited today the local community were flower arranging and preparing for a festival tomorrow.
