Had a wonderful time. This was a perfect pit stop for us. We travelled to see friends and various sites in Devon and returned to the room to lay our heads at bight. The room was a good size for Myself, Mum and two young kids. I had taken a picture of the main room which was immaculate but not posting as my children are in it. Also Breakfast on offer as an additional option. Service with a smile. I definitely recommend a stay here. Reasonably price friendly staff and pub downstairs if you fancy a drink. B&B within the pub on the high road with local bakery a short walk across the road.

Had a Sunday lunch meal here today. Food is very good, a big selection of veg and choice of either pork or turkey as the meat. All cooked to perfection, selection of various desserts, can recomend the salted caramel meringue, provided you still have room for it. Or the fruit pie and custard or perhaps the syrup pudding as an alternate, no photos but the banana split is also good

Warm and friendly! Excellent staff and the food is great. If you want a warm welcoming pub, with a sports bar and function room, pop in and check it out! Live music most Saturday nights!

I stayed at the Ship Hotel Monday to Friday from April 2020 until April 2022 for work purposes.||In that time I cannot think of one single time where anything has been an issue. My room was the same room each and every stay, which made life so much easier. The room I had was the one that was not facing the main road, so noise was not an issue in the slightest. It also helps being 3 floors up away from the bar as well, so you won’t hear any noise even if a sporting event is on.||The shower always had good water pressure, the bed was always comfy and the room was always spotless on the first night. ||In the room was a good sized TV, a fridge and a microwave as well as the usual kettle and drinks making facilities you would expect.||Please do not see this place as a “trades” hotel, as it really is so much more. Fine, the parking can be a pain in the backside, but there’s a well lit and safe parking area down the road a little. But there is usually ample parking just outside the hotel, if you are planning to be out by 0845 in the morning.||The food, which is available every night is outstanding. And again, nothing is too much of an issue. The bar itself is clean, inviting and very well stocked. The clientele, are lovely and not the rowdy kind.||But the main draw to this lovely hotel is the staff and owners. I have never been to a place so inviting and caring in all my years… they have looked after me while I had to self isolate, they have stayed on to cook meals because I was running a little late, but most of all, they truly became friends.||If you are looking for a hotel that will treat you with the kindness and compassion that Devon people are famous for, loom no further. This is an absolute jewel!||Next time my family and I are going to Exeter, I already have plans for where...

Had to attend a funeral of a very close friend's father in Crediton (a man who was an esteemed QC, Crown Court judge and doyen of the Western Circuit) on the Friday. Other places available in Exeter or surrounds but this was bang in middle of the town providing easy access to church. Extremely good value at ÂŁ47 per night (breakfast offered separately) and immaculately clean white linen and towels. Water and milk in fridge and selection of teas/coffee and few biccies. Staff were diamonds (Donna in particular) and very friendly, laid back and understanding (as in when I rang them from Tiverton to say I had the room keys in my pocket - told me not to stress and post back when I could). |I could have paid double the price and not had such a good stay. The hotel actually did the wake of the funeral I went too (they do outside catering) and the food at the wake was exceptional, especially the home made scotch eggs!|Decor a little tired, a little noise from the street as shops opened up but can't praise the value, friendliness and comfort of this place. Thank you for a great...
