Needham Lake offers a pleasant area to enjoy the sheltered waters and water fowl such as ducks, geese, morhens and gulls. The tarmac path which closely follows the waters' edge provides a good solid surface for walking without getting mud on your shoes. Ideal for a brisk walk or a more leisurely amble. There many different tree types which provide a colourful backdrop especially in the Autuimn. For the more adventurous there are tracks along which you can enjoy the sheltered banks of the adjoining river, good for viewing the various fish which reside there. There benches for relaxing and enjoying the pleasant surroundings. There is a n area set aside for children to safely play. There is also a small outlet where ice-cream and drinks can be purchased. This area also provides an idea area where dogs can be exercised. There is adequate parking...

Car parks are dangerously pot holed, no designated walk through from mustard pot side where most parking sited. Hugely over crowded at peak times, low rail bridge by disabled access frequently congested. Arrive on foot to enjoy it. Arrive by train and duck your head and walk through the cattle tunnel into the meadow for a lovely walk across to the lake. Meadow area great for dogs and more open and suitable for ball and fetch than lake. The new cafe finally arrived.. The coffee kiosk was badly run closing up before school closed. Similarly they have been surprised by customers and operate part time hours with limited choices. The car park is still a mess so while it's great they have adult size change tables in the cafe toilets you can only access from the opposite side where parking more limited and you'll need to negotiate a...

Walking around Needham lake is such a lovely experience. The lake and walk around it is kept very clean and tidy. The parks are kept clean and tidy too.

The whole walk is accessible for disabled. You can park in the car park and get to the lake with ease.

There are no car parking charges. The only problem is, the spaces do get taken quickly! But you can easily park anywhere in Needham market and walk down. There's also a gorgeous walk via Alder Carr farm which leads to the lake.

The lake does have a toilet. But due to Covid it has been shut at times. I think it is open now but you have to queue. There are dog poo bins around the lakes and benches too.

I highly recommend visiting not only the lake but...

What a lovely place. Right opposite Needham Market station, it's a lovely lake, full of ducks. Duck food is available to buy in the cafe (50p at time of writing) and there's a fully accessible circular walk, which takes approximately 20 minutes. Fishing is allowed and over the bridge, there's a great play park and cafe. When my children were small, this was perfect: outdoor (and indoor) tables where the adults can nurse a hot drink, whilst the children work off some energy on the excellent activities. The cafe serves excellent smoothies, milkshakes, hot drinks (Ā£5.75 for a hot drink and cake, at time of writing), snacks and jacket potatoes. Oh and doggie ice cream. What else do you need?
