Updated review 31st December 2024. I did give the place 5 stars but have had to review it as we went for New Year Eve and need to make sure reviews are a current reflection of the place. We booked for 6 people about 2 months ago and added people on which we were told we would need to pay a £20pp deposit, fine, we did that. We were told we had to vacate the table at 8.45pm, fine.
When we arrived the first thing they told us was we had to be off the table at 8.45pm...no welcome or polite conversation if we had been there before etc. Then we were rushed through the whole meal, they cleared plates and brought out mains so quickly it was awkward...I had to make an excuse to delay ordering dessert so we could have a little breather...at this point it was 7.45pm so they had plenty of time to serve a dessert and for us to leave on time. But despite this the petite lady wearing all black with black hair was really rude and told us again we had to leave the table by 8.45pm.
The deposit we paid was not removed from the receipt but was rectified after we noticed, they automatically add 12.5% service charge which we asked them to remove as the lady serving us was so rude...the other younger members of staff were lovely so we left cash for them...I just hope they get it all and the establishment doesn't take a cut.
Would be good if the menu describes what is included in each meal as it differs, I had a different salad with my gyros to the lamb I previously had. It would also be nice if they served side dishes...some chips, extra salads or dips.
First review of Aga: Absolutely love the fact we have another amazing place to dine in, in needham market. The place is just stunning on 2 levels, both with a great ambiance. Tonight we sat towards the back of the mezzanine level and could hear the solo guitarist playing and was the right level to still engage in conversation.
Staff are very polite, young but knew their stuff and were very accommodating with any requests. Service was prompt but didn't feel like we were rushed in anyway.
Food was just brilliant...we ordered 4 starters between three of us to share which was spot on. For main I had chicken breast which can sometimes be dry...this wasn't, it was succulent and full of flavour. Dessert I had the baklava which was just spot on, light and crispy pastry, good amount of nuts and a delicious light syrup, came with some cream and crushed pistachios scattered over it.
Non alcoholic drinks were a little on the pricey side and £6.50 for a pint of Efes but it was really good beer.
Toilets are unisex which I am not a huge fan of but they were clean and have been decorated amazingly well with stunning sinks/taps and handcream that smelt devine !!
For someone very hard to please I was very very happy to say I loved it and can't wait to go back Tues for a mates birthday.
Aga...well done and thank you for setting up in...
Read moreOnly one star for the decor!!!! What a shame the standard can't be maintained, so disappointed - four of us visited three weeks ago and it was super the guy hosting was amazing!!!! decided to have my birthday dinner here. Booked 2 weeks in advance. Booked for 8:30pm Five of us got seated at 9pm which we couldn't understand as you have a table time restriction? We were takien to a makeshift table that was literally ontop of the cooking counter - the seat backing the counter you couldn't sit up straight as you were literally underneath it!!! When I approached the head waitress/greeter to share my concern she literally shruged her shoulders and walked off saying "I'm sorry" in such a patronising voice!!!!! - the young guy took my coat which I later found out was put in the disabled toilet!!!! Cut a long story short we left and went to the Indian across the road CURRY INN which was fabulous and you didn't have to lean over in your seat service food amazing as always. When I told the same head waitress we were leaving as the table was not acceptable as you couldn't sit up straight in the chair we got "oh sorry" in the same patronising voice Getting back to AGA, to summarise stunning looking place food is good (previous visit) just in my opinion trying to pretend to be something they are not, looks classy, decor to die for but no depth no care seriously doesn't deliver what you think your going to get for the decor and price - point being a reasturant where it's acceptable for the waiter to take your coat and puts it in the...
Read moreThis restaurant is aesthetically beautiful. The two young waiters we had were very friendly and helpful. (But we did have to wait a long time for a drinks we had to chase up twice, it was very busy) Music was great. Unfortunately the food was VERY disappointing. My lamb wasn’t pink; as I believe it should be it and was dry. It was hard to cut and the bulgar wheat was quite bland. I asked for some dips (as in every other Mediterranean restaurant I’ve ever been in they’ve offered a chilli dip and garlic dip) they said we don’t have dips. So for £25 for my meal that was very disappointing and overpriced, especially as I’ve been looking forward to going there for months. My friend had lamb as well, and that was very dry. The waiter did offer to change my meal but I don’t like to make a fuss and then my friend would’ve been waiting while I was waiting for my meal and it just wouldn’t have flowed nicely so I didn’t want to do that. I think they should’ve either taken my meal off of the bill or offered us a free drink. That would’ve made me want to return, but I don’t really want to now and that’s...
