We stumbled across this when we went for an impromptu walk around Morwenstow. The walk itself is easy to locate and has a circular route a mile long. This can be longer if you take the costal path, and becomes a much more difficult walk! Otherwise, there are no steep climbs and the views show the most rugged and wild parts of Cornwall. Hawker's Hut can be found by a small sign by the cliff edge. It is a delightful little hut which feels very special and is an excellent perch to take in the view. There is a lot of graffiti which is a shame, but that tells its own story too. Stay away from the cliff edges as it is so steep, and be mindful of the livestock.

Visited this hut today.....weather was very misty and eerieπŸ˜±πŸ˜…...we were lucky, the sky brightened up for a few moments and we got down to the hut.. its a relaxing, lovely to visit. The view was amazing!!... also when we went back up the steps to the cliff top the views were even more gorgeous!!!... then just like that the mist rolled back in!!...so that was the end of the walk on the coast path.....so glad we went to Hawkers Hut!πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ....if you get a clear day the view is stunning!!... enjoy everyone!!.....just be careful driving around the tight lanes to get there!!...πŸ˜πŸ‘

There is a small stone marker and National Trust sign at the top of the steps leading down to the hut. Surely most coast path walkers will take a few minutes to visit the hut and sit to look out on the sea views. Built by clergyman Robert Hawker (1803-1875) from wood retrieved from shipwrecks. It's a ten minute walk from Morwenstow Church which has a large car park.

Short walk along coastal path from Morwenstow church. Well worth visiting keep a look out for the national trust emblem on rocks at cliff edge its easy to walk straight on and miss path down to the hut. Spectacular sea views from the hut out towards Lundy. Word of warning when we visited the top swing door of the hut simply falls off as you open it rather dangerous but to be expected as its exposed to the elements all year round. Good idea to read up on Rev. Hawker & Morwenstow church before a visit. Final mention must go to the Old Rectory Tea Rooms opposite the church, cream teas are to die for, a great start /...
