We took the nation cycle way from Skellingthorpe to Newark, a very nice ride through villages and off road 👍 . We stopped at Balderton lake for a picnic, there is anther cycle route that takes you alongside the lake, you can peel off at the lakeside and cycle or walk round the lake, which is larger than you think! Benches are situated around the lake, and its landscaped with plants and walled seating at one end, where you will be visited by ducks, geese, and moorhens after a quick share of your food.
