This is a lovely place with a lot of things waiting to be explored. But in order to enjoy all of them, it would be better to stay and spend at least three days if you are with children. I spends two days and it seems not enough. The admission fee for normal car parking inside is 5 GBP and there is also a camping area besides the parking for motor home stay overnight that is a little expensive. First of all, it has a maze garden which is very fun with children. It took us a hour to find the way out finally. A walled garden is near the conference centre which took us almost one hour. The bicycle trails are go through the hills with multiple routes choice around the lake. You can either bring your own bicycles or hire it at the entrance. The children love this place and we also love it. A picnic is a must. Besides, there is a small caffe near the entrance. The firewood heating feels very warm but the food is just OK.

These trails nearly always ride well and are kept in good condition. They were well designed and have good flow if the rider is up to speed. With GREEN through BLUE and RED up to BLACK, there's something to suit all the family. There is a sense that they may be resting on their laurels a little ... after 10 years with no further development, it's time they now thought about extending the BLUE route as it's too short and adding in some more BLACK options to satisfy the gnarlier riders. Trails are FREE to ride and car parking is easy at £5 per vehicle (free with Forestry Parks pass) and there's a café, toilets, bike hire and a bike wash (tokens required). A few waste-bins on the circuit should be an obvious addition as it would cut down on litter and dog eggs ... not that there's a lot of either, but there could be none.

A little bit of everything! This place isn't pretending to be a full on bike park but it delivers plenty for all skills. And what a setting, beautiful! Hiring the bikes was straight forward. The staff have excellent knowledge of the bikes and the park, would highly recommend them 👍 Definitely be back 😁

Probably some of the best trails in NI for MTB. More angled towards XC than downhill as there's 2 short black rims, but about 15k of Red. Less challenging than Rostrevor, but certainly beautiful with elevated views in places and fantastic for a workout. Haven't found them particularly busy, but can get some holidaymakers during the summer who may not be well prepared for the trails.

Good selection of hire bikes on site; hard tail and full suspension in electric and non electric versions which are of high quality.

Power washer on site which takes pound coins. Parking in the Castlewellan carpark is £5 per day at time of writing.

Good toilet facilities...
