Great place. Busy place. Walks are lovely. Big castle and massive rolley poley hill. Canoe and camping too. Went there on Easter Monday and got stuck literally for an hour or more about 1.5miles from it travelling on the wee road from Banbridge direction. Lovely place but plan early. Plus finding somewhere to eat has same problem with cues. Weirdly all the bank machines had no cash. But this was at the same time as a lot of recent cash machine attempted stealings. (Can't think of better way to word that). Peace maze is great. Make sure kids go to toilet first or you'll not...

Castlewellan forest park offers lots to do for those who want a nice walk, mountain bike trails and this hedge maze. The maze is more challenging than we initially thought although some “kids” have made a hole in the hedge to skip part of the maze so we made sure we didn’t use the cheat hole. Great parking and toilets nearby. You pay a small fee for car entrance but then the use of the park is free. Beautiful lake to walk around and a child’s play park available too as well a mountain bike hire, kayak hire and a coffee shop. It’s a lovely spot in a small town....
