This is such an amazing heritage railway! We went today for the Shamrock Express train and it did not disappoint! The staff were all super friendly and made loads of chat with us about trains. I was even given a cab ride which was amazing. The whole railway was really well maintained and the trains - although definitely worn - are still in great working order (well, some of them at least). I would really recommend a visit and supporting the railway is crucial for it to improve and get steam trains running again. I will certainly come again!

Had a great time on January the 7th at the diesel gala , it was great to be joined by some of my former Irish Rail colleagues. It marked 12 months since I retired from Irish Rail. The amount of work the staff put in here should never be underestimated and the welcome we get here from the volunteers who are now our friends one can never forget. Well done to all concerned and continued success.

Absolutely amazing, I'm in no way a train enthusiast but I was very impressed with not only the friendly, enthusiastic staff (who clearly love volunteering here) but also the museum of old railway cars and a vast amount of information & pictures about railways in Northern Ireland. The short train journey was great - the steam train made it. Young & old will love to visit.

The train is a fantastic experience for anyone interested in history, trains, or simply a unique day out. We make the ride in Christmas. The beautifully restored vintage trains offer a nostalgic journey through stunning countryside, creating a magical atmosphere. The museum is well-organized and filled with fascinating exhibits about the history of railways in the area. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to answer questions and share stories. It’s a great activity for families, couples, or solo adventurers. Highly recommended for a memorable and...

Fantastic place. I hope someday my affection for the railway will lead to myself volunteering. A fantastic selection of trains such as the 450 Class, A Class and 141 Class (diesels). Not many steam locos but that doesn't matter, the DCDR still maintains a nice fleet of heritage trains, including a small fleet of permanent way maintenance vehicles - and good on them for preserving them. The last time I paid a visit was 2009, however I hope to return someday soon. I would highly recommend this place to all rail enthusiasts, or anyone who wants to see something that little...
