The Garden Cafe — Restaurant in Newry, Mourne and Down District Council

The venue is excellent but the food, staff and cleanliness leave a lot to be desired. There were four of us and we had tour different meals. The chicken curry was OK as was the fish with chips. However the chicken burger was very poor, dried up and the burger bun toasted to a crisp. I opted for the daily special (Turkey, ham and stuffing wit veg and potatoes). Unfortunately at 1.15pm there wasn't any vegetables left, so that was of the menu. I chose a toasted sandwich, the bread was either stale or overcooked, as no matter how I tried the crusts were inedible. Stopped by for brunch. I went for the smashed avocado and my husband had something similar from the breakfast menu, with both being delicious, plus we shared a slice of the Halloween themed tiffin cake. There was a special offer of Halloween hot chocolate and a cookie, which both kids went for, plus they demolished their pancakes and brioche with fried egg respectively. This place has truly gone to the dogs! Service is abysmal. Poor attitude from the staff who just don't care. Food is cheap and nasty - no one wants to order sourdough to be met with 2 slices of Gallaghers pan sourdough at 20 times the price if you bought it in the store. Just terrible. I won't...
