Best park I’ve been to in Newry! It’s a beautiful open space with stunning greenery, scenic views, and plenty of hiking trails. In February, it was quiet, which I personally enjoyed. The park is so big that I didn’t get to explore it all, but the lakeside area was peaceful - perfect for dog lovers, especially if you’re staying nearby or in the north with a dog. There’s also a café where you can grab a tea or coffee. Several trails lead up the hillside, offering great views overlooking the city. Highly recommend! Rain, hail or snow dog will love it (plenty of dogs off the lead which was great to see, free parking along the curb side too). Cafes, little shops all in close...

Really pretty walk along the river bank. Starting from Kilbroney park entrance at Rostrevor town , the walk follows the river for about 1k with an option of turning away from the river up through the meadows with views over Carlingford Lough. Some lovely photo opportunities along the river and a couple of areas to get down to the water's edge.... perfect for kids wanting to throw a few stones into the water...

Beautiful short walk of about 500m up along a river running through Rostrevor. Disappointed there were no fairy doors, etc for the kids to spot!! Not sure what relation the name is to the place! Still a lovely walk..I think it is missing a sign or two to tell a "fairy" story..or something!! Also when u get to the end, turn right into the main park..only knew this by asking some locals!...

There's not really much to Rostrevor with most people either passing through or taking their push bikes for a ride in Kilbroney. You could do worse than stopping off and taking a walk up the Fairy Glen which there is much more to than you would think from the gates. Trust your instincts and keep on walking, it'll be worth it.
