Myself and my Dad popped in for a late lunch today. We have been a few times before and really love the food. This time however, my issue is more with the menu than the food. Having a number of allergies I am always careful as to what I order, sometimes substituting ingredients for something else.

On this occasion I ordered the Chicken Zinger burger and asked for the mayo to be left off. There was nothing else to worry about on the listed ingredients. My burger came out with coleslaw and cheese on it which wasn’t mentioned at all on the menu. I had to eat my way around these ingredients as there was no one available to speak to.

On speaking to the waitress eventually, when she stopped chatting to her friends in the corner I mentioned my request when I ordered. She came back to me to say that I only asked for the mayo to be left off and it’s made with eggs anyway! Is coleslaw not made with mayo? I hadn’t discussed my allergies with her. I asked her where they were on the menu! There was no mention whatsoever of coleslaw nor cheese.

She really did seem rather indifferent and unconcerned and seemed to dismiss me as she rang up our bill on the till. There was no apology or acceptance that they were somewhat at fault. Sadly I will not return here nor will I buy anymore gift vouchers which I have purchased on numerous occasions. Not a lunch I want...

Nine of us booked an evening meal here and we were promptly seated. Our drink order was quickly taken but the drinks didn't arrive as quick and one of our party had to remind his drink hasn't arrived.

Our waitress was friendly and helped us choose based on her first hand knowledge of the meals. It wasn't that she'd tried everything on the menu though. My choice of wine was complemented but that might have been said to every customer!

We didn't have to wait long for our starters, I suspect that might have been to do with we were there as potentially the last customers to arrive so the chef want too busy. I had the ribs and no complaints from me. I followed the ribs with a burger/chips and again I was happy with my choice. There were no complaints from our party and I think between us only two main meals were duplicated.

I did notice there was sometimes a queue for the toilets which isn't great but the toilet was...

I was extremely disappointed with my Β£17.00 burgers the bacon was not crispy and under cooked, the beef was not special or tasty the filling was not nice a very taste less burger the chips were Not cooked as for the onions rings they were extremely oily and under cooked and I was very disappointed with my order. Plus The take away boxes made the food sweat. The food was made without care or love and no careful planning had taken place i would Not eat there again I was so hungry as I had a very busy day and I was only in the area for today. Over priced burger very disappointed. A very Poor quality burger i had to reheat the chip myself....

I had the trip of a lifetime from California to Ireland in September 2019. My lovely hosts took me to Kilbroney, to see where my ancestor Rev. Evans worked in the C of I. We ate at the Schoolhouse and the food was so good. I wish I lived closed to come here every day. I had the fish gumbo? or was it called soup. So flavorful. And also a lovely plate of onion rings. I was tickled when served my Coke in such a cute little bottle. And the decorating around with school books & novels was a treat to see. If you go to Rostrevor, do yourself a favor and eat here.
