We've called in here on a few occasions whilst camping at kilbroney, had the odd pint, and also went to they're Steak night, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I've always fancied to book an over night stay, and my wife got us booked in for my 48th birthday. They had a deal on £110 for 2 people for one night bed breakfast and evening meal. I had the steak sandwich, Good God whoever cooked it deserves a pay rise, well Seasoned and cooked to perfection, simply Full of Taste, my Wife had the Cantonese Chicken Curry, Way better than any Chinese curry you'll ever taste, again full of flavour and well balanced with succulent chicken breast, all washed down with a bottle of Chile Red wine, Gorgeous. For dessert we both had the sticky Toffee pudding with ice-cream and custard, Beautiful. We stayed in the top room, and had views of kilbroney Forrest mountain, very comfortable and spacious, clean and tidy, Very Cosy. The staff were very helpful, Friendly and delivered Excellent service. We had the Full Breakfast, which again was simply Gorgeous and full of Taste. So if your looking for a relaxing night or 2 away, with Great looking Bar, Relaxing Atmosphere, Fantastic Food, and Pampering Staff, Just head to the Rostrevor Inn, You'll Just Love it. Cheers Colin and Nicola Mcilvenny.

We were in Rostrevor to do some mountain biking so we picked the Rostrevor Inn. It's handy that they will store your bikes in an adjacent building. I would however recommend bringing your own lock and locking your bike for extra security. The staff were all friendly and chatty, making you feel welcome. We stayed in the Narnia room (converted attic) which had one double and three single beds. The room was lovely and clean with a decent sized ensuite. For breakfast you had the usual choice of options, I sent for the full Irish breakfast and want disappointed. What I was disappointed with was breakfast didn't start until 9am (at least at the weekend). So if you're planning an early start then your in trouble. By the time we ordered and ate breakfast it was 10am. Dinner had a good selection of meals, I went for the cod and chips egg were delicious. The bar isn't late opening, even for residents but it's not a deal breaker. So to cut to the chase, we enjoyed our stay and if we were to go back to Rostrevor then there's no reason to think we wouldn't stay in the Rostrevor Inn again.

Just back from a night here, was a wonderful experience, the room was huge and I had the best night's sleep I've ever had in a new bed. The shower was powerful and the shower door didn't let any water escape to the floor, towels were fluffy. I paid for the breakfast and dinner option and both were excellent, the pork bites are divine, both our mains were great and my wife said her pancakes this morning wee the best she'd had in years. Crawfords bar is cosy and friendly, with a great singer there last night. All the staff were wonderful. The area itself is stunning, well worth seeing. Highly recommended.

A mixed experience, we had some really good food, and some of the staff were lovely. We also had the worst service we have ever experienced. The restaurant was very busy, the staff weren't able to cope. I ordered a steak which was mostly raw. The rest of the dinner was overdone. I ate round the edge of the steak, and had the mushrooms. I sat there with a plate that was almost full, no one came near us, we had to go and get a member of staff. I said I would not be paying the £8 steak supplement (we had paid for a B&B & Dinner). The member of staff said that was ok, a very underwhelming response. She then came back to say chef said you can have a free dessert, , (on the residents menu this would have cost £6.50) - Again very underwhelming. When we were leaving, went to pay for drinks, the same member of staff charged for the £8 steak supplement. She said that was what the chef said to do, and that I got a free dessert, that there no manager on duty and there was nothing she could do. We went back to the room and called a number left as a contact ( the accommodation doesn't have any staff). A man who turned out to be the owner arrived promptly, with the member of staff who apologised. I said that we had just had the worst service experience and I wanted to leave. The owner said we could check out the next morning, and that the £8 supplement would be refunded. ( we were meant to stay another day). The member of staff who dealt with us at reception was very abrupt, rude really. So unfortunately we can not recommend this place despite some great...

Left Rostrevor Inn yesterday morning following our one night stay during our search for a property in Co.Down. The Inn is indeed a pleasant place to stay and well run by its excellent staff. The accommodation is excellent and not too noisy in spite of the fact that we were sleeping over the main street thanks to the excellent double glazing. They have a small but adequate bar which is certainly large enough to accommodate as many as would choose to use it whilst enjoying its timeless ambiance (only in Ireland) presided over by the lady herself. You want a drink - she serves it - a problem with our room - she will sort it and promptly. The Guinness is well looked after in both bars - we dined in the bistro that evening and were delighted with our well cooked choices. I do not normally regard "burgers" as man food, but I changed my opinion when I was introduced to "The Rostrevor Burger" - Home made and unvarnished with the ingredients that are compulsory in other establishments - which for me make them inedible. They are delicious and accompanied by a very pleasant relish which combined to satisfy my hearty appetite. Breakfast the next morning is also to be recommended - excellent fare cooked and served promptly by the very pleasant waiting staff. All in all and speaking as someone who has been in the hospitality trade as a supplier in Torquay for almost thirty years, I consider this business a gem well deserving of the praise that I do not bestow often when staying away from home. Thank you and best wishes - will definitely find an excuse...
